Thirsty's — Restaurant in Dallas

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. They made both me and my girlfriend sick.

I ordered two drinks from this stand (Thristy’s): an unsweetened iced tea for myself and a sweet tea for my girlfriend. Immediately after finishing my drink, I felt extremely nauseous. My mouth started salivating, my stomach churned, and I had to rush to the restroom at the Westin Hotel to vomit. I stayed there for a while trying not to keep throwing up.

Meanwhile, my girlfriend, who went to work right after, also felt sick with the exact same symptoms. She left work to come back to me, feeling just as awful.

When we told the staff, they dismissed our complaint and claimed “you might’ve been sick before you drank the iced tea,” refusing any responsibility. They wouldn’t even give us a receipt. They said their manager makes the drinks, not them. In other words, they fully denied anything could be wrong with their drinks.

This place should be evaluated or shut down. Clearly they don’t care about hygiene, safety, or customers. It’s likely they had tea sitting out for hours or even days unrefrigerated, letting bacteria grow. That is how people get food poisoning.

I have filed a complaint with the mall and am reporting them to Dallas County Health and Human Services. I still feel sick as I write this. This stand is disgusting, careless, and dangerous. Avoid them at all costs.

I went because I remember this brand from being a kid. I was visiting from the East Coast. I went to the counter, I was ignored and not told to come to the other end to order. I went to the other end and was just stared at by the staff. No greeting. I ordered, the woman looked at the guy staffer and said, "all I heard was strawberry." I said "strawberry ice," he said you mean "chill?" The woman just blank stared. After my order was made the woman literally sat the cup and straw on the counter and gave no Thank You. I said Thank You. She said, "mmmhmmm." The other staff just stared. This is a public, customer service job. But this staff had the attitude of a coal miner. They need proper training. The main, more mature looking woman was the primary culprit. It was as if she avoided eye contact and was rude on purpose. Never again. This is not what I remember from this brand. If I could give zero stars I would. I literally just came from there. The girl off the bat had attitude when she saw us. She had no customers. Not even near closing time. I gave her my order. She already had a batch of what I wanted sitting in the blender container from someone else’s order (who knows how long it’s been there) and proceeded to add new ingredients to make me and my daughter our shake. I asked her to please use a new clean blender container and she said that is how they do their shakes. Basically they pour new ingredients into an old dirty USED blender container.
