Allow me to preface I am a 23+ year certified professional in my chosen field. Approximately 8 months ago, I had contacted someone at this agency regarding reciprocity from another state for licensing. After holding for an extraordinary amount of time, following 10 minutes of an exchange of discourse, (which was completely discouraging regarding my reciprocating to Colorado) "it's really hard, we rarely ever accept another certification, you'll have to reapply like a new candidate in Colorado, we're the most difficult state in the country., but if you can get your stuff in under the old criteria, maybe." She even stated to me at one point " I'm not trying to sound discouraging" What!?! So, trying to be proactive, I did contact the NCC for equivalency evaluation of my current national certifications, which is reciprocal. However Colorado no longer accepts this credential following March 2021 of this year due to their changing title names of the credential! However, they still inform on their website to send to NCC for equivalency evaluation.
When I contacted NCC, the Colorado application they have available is from 2019 and in no way reflects the newly signed Colorado Portability reg signed last year and in placement January 2021 (20-1326) . So naturally, b/c their application and information refers to old/outdated information, I attempt to call..of course...no answer. Additionally, completing the application online is not difficult however b/c the information and regs are not congruent with the application , one can't move forward in processing or completing the online application. I have worked and transferred certification between 2 different states, and NEVER encountered such an unprofessional, incongruent, unhelpful process. Update 10/2021- NCC Application updated to reflect new Colorado Credentials and application year..that's all. The process is still the same and in no way reflects portability of current certs/licenses. It is literally like applying to be a new credentialed candidate. I can't imagine anyone who had supervision hours from 10, 15, 20 years ago would still have access to those people, or proof of those hours for that matter. The certification and test scoring itself evidences supervision requirements being met, as one can not test or hold a credential without having provided that at the application process in any state...for a new candidate. Completely negates the Colorado House Bill 20-1326 for portability. This is a nightmare. Why is the bill passed, and regulatory authorities not having to "reduce barriers" for those credentialed in another state. If you're credentialed in social services of any kind, and relocating to Colorado, do you're self a favor and review the newly signed HS 20-1326. It's useless if regulatory agencies (DORA) aren't...
Read moreI filed a complaint about my orthopedic surgeon not prescribing any physical therapy after a tib FIB plateau fracture and repair. Dora said that they found nothing wrong in their investigation. It's normal for a physician to prescribe no physical therapy after a patience leg has been immobile for over a month. Lmao. You guys are a joke at best. I feel sorry for everybody who receives any sort of medical treatment in the state of Colorado.
Dealing with a surgeon in Colorado is like the Twilight zone. You call their office tell them you're in pain, You going for visits you tell them you're in pain you tell them your legs swelling up to 22 to 30 in. Doctor looks at you straight in the face says you're doing great. This goes on for months 6 months later your leg is still swelling up to 25 inches doctor says you're doing good. By the way I'm not obese. we're talking about 10 inchs of swelling and they're telling me Oh no you're fine.
then when you file a complaint the medical board. They say the doctor did nothing wrong even though now I have a crooked leg that's also shorter than the other one.
They completely disregard the fact that a metal allergy is written into my medical history and the fact that the doctor put a metal plate in my leg. The doctor then proceeded to tell me it was titanium when it was in fact stainless steel. The doctor lied to my face for months.
Honestly modern doctors are a joke. Stay away from Colorado surgeons they have a license to disfigure and maim with no repercussions.
Dora is an inept failure of an institution.
God has a special place in hell for you horrible doctors that are taking advantage of so many people.
Can you guys imagine being an a loser doctor in Colorado. Imagine making six figures a year and still being the biggest loser douchebag tool in all of existence.
by the way as soon as I moved to Oregon. first doctor I saw said we need to get that out of your leg ASAP. Colorado doctor says I'm doing fine. Oregon doctor says Oh my God I can't believe this...
Read moreThe website for license renewal is an ABSOLUTE JOKE. If ZERO STARS was an option, I'd give negative stars.
They state to renew your license at a computer as renewal via mobile phone may cause issues. Ok, I have an extremely fast internet connection, easy enough. Then it takes FOREVER to load and login on a computer. Then once you're finally in, you have to answer about 20 questions, each with their own individually-loading questionnaire window. Each questions/window is a yes/no format. Took about 45 seconds to 1 minute for each question to load. Wasn't really sure if the website was going to time-out because it takes so long to load the next question. Which is absolutely infuriating.
In summary it took over 30 minutes to answer ~20 yes/no questions and process my payment method.
I started the renewal process at 927am and finished at 1001am
Absolute joke of a website. You'd think with the amount of state funding an "organization" like this is receiving, they'd actually have a streamlined, functioning website. But (unsurprisingly)no. Not even after all these years (decades). Almost like it's by design...
It's almost as if they purposely make license renewal and website navigation difficult as a way to get more money from people who end up having to pay expiration fees because they get so frustrated, that people decide to just try it again on a different day, where they have more than 30 minutes to complete, and then ultimately forget to renew during the allotted time frame. But who knows.
Either way, an expected terrible experience just like the last time I renewed online a...
