I will never return to a place that insults its diners. This was the most uncomfortable I've ever been made to feel in a restaurant.
I will give credit where it's due: the food was decent. Not outstanding, but on the better side of average. Maragarita was really good.
We need to talk about the environment. I felt unwelcomed from the very start. When I walked in, there was no one to greet my party. There was no sign that said "Please wait to be seated", nor was there instruction to seat ourselves. We didn't know whether we should wait or take a seat. Someone came to the front and eventually sat us down... and shortly in to the meal, I realized how unwelcoming this place is.
If you order the plate with 3 tacos, you can only select one kind for all 3 tacos. Not sure why you can't have 3 different tacos like at every other Mexican restaurant in Denver.
They do not allow you to split checks. Only one check per table. Never have I heard of a restaurant that won't split a check, and I can't imagine any reason why they wouldn't. The check came out to us printed out of a computer system, so it's not like splitting a check would require manual work. It's a common courtesy that
They charge $5 for chips, charge for all substitutions.
They do indeed serve margaritas, but you won't know what flavors, sizes or prices because they are not on the menu. If I didn't ask about margaritas, I wouldn't have known they even serve them.
We were later told you have to scan the QR code on the wall that just says "Scan" in order to get the full menu, despite them handing you a paper menu. I thought the menu they handed me would have had all the items on it, which is why I didn't scan the QR code. It doesn't.
Most disturbing of all were the insulting signs in the dining area.
One said "due to the circumstances", they asked people to leave as soon as they were done eating. I presumed by "circumstances" they meant the pandemic which is now officially over... yet the signs still tell people to hurry up and leave.
When I asked the waitress about it, she said it was because they were a small restaurant.
There are in fact LOTS of very small restaurants in Denver, many even smaller than this one. And never have I seen a sign in any of them telling me to hurry up and leave. In fact, I've never seen that in a restaurant in all my life. Insulting.
Lastly, the sign in back at the bar was the worst. It was facing the dining room large and proud and said: "You can't fix stupid."
I would like to know exactly who the owners think are stupid and can't be fixed, and why it needs to be advertised in the dining room.
Is it the patrons who give their hard earned money to people who clearly don't want it? Are we the stupid ones? Perhaps.
The sign was facing the dining room and all the diners; you tell me who you think that message was intended for if it wasn't the diners.
I will NEVER return to an establishment that calls me stupid, won't split the check, doesn't provide a full menu, and tells me to hurry up and...
Read moreThere seems to be noticeable inconsistency in how guests are treated at this restaurant. Some patrons are greeted warmly, offered drink menus, and served while waiting for a table — others are not. Unfortunately, I fell into the latter category. Given the strong reviews, I had higher expectations for the level of service.
The host managing the queue appeared friendly toward select guests, engaging them in a “handshake and smiles” manner, but that courtesy didn’t seem to extend to everyone.
As for the food, it was a mixed experience. The salsa was excellent — flavorful, spicy, and consistent with other positive reviews. The guacamole, however, was disappointing. It tasted like plain mashed avocados with a few diced tomatoes sprinkled on top — no onion, no jalapeño, no lime, and no salt. It required a generous amount of seasoning just to make it palatable.
The chicken burrito was a highlight. The chicken was moist and well-seasoned, and the sauce on top added great flavor. On the other hand, the rice was overcooked and mushy, though the refried beans were well-prepared and flavorful.
Service quality varied dramatically. It seemed to depend less on timing or workload and more on how familiar or favored a guest was. While several tables were promptly offered drinks and attentive service, I had to ask multiple times just to place a drink order. My neighboring table enjoyed several rounds of margaritas, yet I was served only one before being presented with the check — without any request to close out.
This restaurant has potential: the atmosphere is lively, some dishes are very good, and the location is appealing. However, the inconsistency in service and uneven food quality make it hard to recommend. Based primarily on the treatment I received, I wouldn’t return and would hesitate to suggest it to...
Read moreWe celebrated our last vacation night from Miami with a bang! 😃 We were in the mood for Mexican food and we came across this fabulous gem, walking distance from our hotel. D’Corazon Mexican Restaurant is a family owned restaurant, I would describe as “a hole in a wall” kinda place, serving authentic Mexican food. Owner is very friendly, down to earth and very welcoming just a genuinely nice person. He suggested some of the family favorite dishes. 😍 These people have great culture and values, and we appreciate them for their hard working efforts and dedication. 😃
We shared the Guacamole Dip for our appetizer, it was very fresh and delicious! My fiancé had the Enchilada Ground Beef Plate, and I had the Taco Ground Beef Plate for main entrees…and of course Margaritas! You can’t enjoy Mexican food without a refreshing Margarita! 😃
Gisela, our server is very helpful with a smile on her face. She checked on us several times making sure we had everything we needed. Her service is on point superb!
The entire staff is friendly, even on a very busy Saturday night. I want to personally thank the owner for making my birthday feel special! 🥳
Overall great Margaritas, food, and ambiance. This is by far the best food we ate in Denver hands down! Highly...
