First and foremost, most Black Swan Yogis are amazing. Sadly Iāve had several poor experiences here. A couple classes of 100% N word & misogynistic songs was totally offensive They were incapable of canceling automatic payments. Took 6 emails to straighten out Had an undisclosed grievance about me which they refused to explain and lied about source Upper management and owner Aubrey Marcus team failed to mediate situation. Ironic considering Aubreys take on justice in the world
In closing, if you donāt emulate Black Swanās hidden mandated enlightenments you will be canceled. I was exiled by an undisclosed grievance, without, due process or an opportunity to grow.
As a believer, it requires everyone to be whole, I find this behavior from leadership concerning. Yoga is āunionā, yes!? No āunityā at BlackSwan.
The craziest thing is the class in question was lovely. I shared a few accolades for the instructing yogi. We hugged (w/ consent) and I went on my way with a huge smile. 20 minutes later I received a call banning me. No explanation given. Any further discussion refused. Leaving me with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBlack Swan Yoga has been one of the greatest places I have ever stumbled upon. They popped up on my ClassPass, just three blocks away from where I live so I decided to try a class. Loving the first class, I decided to sign up for their first month offer at the time (50% off). Not even a month later I committed to their 200-hour teacher training (something I NEVER saw myself doing). BSY offers a community of teachers and students who are so welcoming and accepting. I love seeing so much variety in their classes and Iām not just talking about the types of classes they offer. I have yet to come across a studio that attracts people of all experience levels, incomes, genders, sizes, and reasons to practice yoga in the first place. People feel comfortable to come as they are and explore in directions they want. The classes range from restorative to power with everything in-between and have classes from 6am to 10pm. I may sound over the top in my praises, but I speak truthfully and urge you to try a class for yourself. Thank you BSY for creating the space and community I never knew I needed...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love BSY. Donation based yoga that is accessible for all!! Super clean studio with lights that make you feel like your practicing yoga underneath the stars. The teachers are all unique and provide an experience for everyone. I can move my body in a safe space while quieting the mind and build community. I feel supported, strong and loved every time I walk into the studio. This studio does a lot of cool events that bring people together and support our local community. They also have awesome fitness classes (Hot Onnit) and chill classes when I need to reset and restore. I did yoga teacher training with BSY and I have learned how to transform obstacles into opportunities and I have made deep connections that feel like family. I have been to a lot of different studios, but BSY just hits different. Thank you Black Swan for creating a space that makes me...
