My father and I are visiting Denver for the first time for a hockey game. We flew in the morning prior and happened upon this place later that evening, and we were both immediately interested, as we hadn't seen this kind of game before.
The next afternoon we returned as we had some time to kill and the game looked pretty fun. So, we gave it a shot, grabbed two beers at the bar and started to play. I must say, our first impression made the game look like a walk in the park.
We were humbled on our first hole/course.
We played a total of 18 holes and had a great time, the game was very easy to follow and play, and difficult to master. I think the rules and scoring system were very well-balanced and the penalty for going out-of-bounds is not quite enough to shatter your game, and enough to encourage a more "gentle" strategy. On top of that, the design of the location was awesome, very nice setting, atmosphere, and very friendly staff.
TL;DR: we would definitely recommend a visit to Lob if you're looking for a different flavor of yard game, a drink, or just an engaging activity before a...
Read moreDisappointed in Lob Denver’s Lack of Commitment
I’m extremely disappointed in Lob Denver for canceling a Warrior Now veterans event just 10 days before it was scheduled. This event was meant to support and honor those who have served our country, providing them with vital resources and community connections. Pulling the plug at the last minute showed a complete lack of consideration and professionalism.
Many veterans and supporters had already made plans, coordinated schedules, and were looking forward to this gathering. Canceling on such short notice not only disrupted those plans but also sent a message that supporting veterans isn’t a priority for this venue.
Warrior Now does incredible work for veterans, and it’s unfortunate that Lob Denver chose to back out at the last minute. I hope the management reflects on this decision and considers how their actions impact the community. I cannot recommend a business that fails to honor its commitments, especially for such an...
Read moreGreat idea very poorly executed. Love the idea but not done well at all. It was sooo bright in there like office lights blaring. Had a DJ that was so loud the bartenders could not hear drink orders.
The cocktails were decent but the food was bland. I had the Carolina Twinkies and the bacon was raw and the filling was chilled. We had to ask 3 times for our sodas cause the bar tenders kept forgetting and we never got a refill. They lack attention to detail and service skills.
The game itself was lack luster. There are 9 holes, lack ball return (basic technology), have manual score cards, and are pretty much all the same. Nothing engaging. The balls themself are heavily textured and not balanced. There is a moving weight inside that ruins any control you may have.
Cost was ok cause you could play as much as you want but for $40 for 9 boeing holes, playing once was more than enough.
They did have a...
