As McDonald's restaurants everywhere seem to be declining (as if that were even possible,) but this sad location REALLY takes the cake as a nightmare dining service. Placed my order on the app for a promo, im which only a small portion is f the promised discount was granted. McDonald's has been all about using their app nowadays if you want any sort of deals and they almost demand it's use- then this location specifically took out the use of outlets anywhere to charge said necessary phone AND they got rid of public wifi for it's use as well, set up for employees only. The drink machine sits in the corner unplugged so you can't fill your own drink nor get refills. Shocker: their ice cream machine is broken so I couldn't order the Mcflurry I was specifically coming in for. When I got my order, I was given many incorrect items and when I asked for it to be retified, the manager loudly said I ordered incorrectly and he fulfilled the order right and basically said I was unintelligent when it comes to using their technology, until I literally brought up my receipt and he could then read in black and white that HE was simply not doing his job correctly. The final thoughts are in reference to the completely ignorant, rude, and undertrained/uneducated employee who continued to make our experience poor over and over and over and over in our single visit. She interrupted our meal twice to ask us to move completely temporarily so she could sweep up the 3 crumbs under our chairs on the floor, stopping our meal entirely and making us walk 3 feet away for 20 seconds for such an unnecessary (at the time) chore, like she didn't know that is a task to be done silently/inconspicuously and not intentionally to bother those eating, as it should have been cleaned before guests arrive and in between customers. Then a third time for her to badly mop. Then the next 15 minutes we could have no conversation amongst our family as she loudly vacuumed the back as well. She then denied us refills to our Orange HiC when asked if we could have a second glass (at $3.50 per cup!!! Greedy! My boyfriend was very ill this morning when we came in (and he was actually coming in to fill his stomach and try to get him in a better mood and better feelings,) he was tired, eyes droopy, fatigued and having to exert much energy into all of his activities. She came through and hollered at him saying McDonald's is not a place to relax and she better not see him resting his eyes anymore or she would have her manager kick us out, completely uncalled for and rude! I hope her family and children fall ill and get treated poorly when they seek any relief and now told to ignore the symptoms of their ailment which bothers literally nobody, for no other reason than to hear her own voice and feel like she has the control over someone. Then she came to us after we were eating our large order at 20 minutes to sternly tp remind us that they have a 30 minute time limit policy so make sure we hurry up and finish before there were any problems. I have a severe debilitating autoimmune disorder and must take small bites, chew well, and let food rest in my tummy between bites to avoid abdominal tears in my stomach. I told her this and she said that didn't matter, policy rules and we only had 6 minutes to finish up and clean our tables. We also had ordered 2-3 sandwiches per person plus 2 sides and 3 drinks (hydrating for this hot summer!) per person and we were not even permitted to finish eating in peace, even though we paid an exorbitantly high price tag for it all. All in all, this location is disorganized, dirty, inconvenient, unprofessional, non accommodating, immature, controlling, unskilled, and just overall a very pathetic excuse for dining out. All of management and employees should be ashamed and rethink their entire concept and policies. They need to quit being so selfish and disgusting. Not much at all to praise here. McDonald's will be lucky to stick around in the next decade as they are out pricing themselves, making asinine rules, taking away all kindness...
Read moreI'D READ THIS BEFORE YOU GO TO THIS PLACE. I hate that I rarely review unless I have a really bad experience, but I guess that's how it is. First off, AVOID this place late night. I repeat: STAY FAR AWAY.
First of all, if you read the other 1 star reviews, you'll see that the biggest issue with this place is two things: one, a tendency to hire younger folks who don't really care about the job (as opposed to that kid who crushes it and respects what they do), and two, the management themselves seem to be more aligned with the employees than the customers, so bringing things up with management is likely to get you yelled at by them, too. In the end, it creates a situation where employees know that they can do pretty much anything and get away with it; or at least that's what it feels like most of the time. And I have been coming here for almost a decade.
During the day, I'd say it's a normal enough McDonald's. But at night and overnight, the place is overrun by 18 and 19 year olds who really shouldn't be in a management position. It's like the grownups just give up and let the kids run the place for a while. Some kid named "Jorge" and another named "Maria" are some decent standouts. Some examples:
Waiting in a three or four car line for 25 minutes, assuming that somebody laid a huge order on them, only to get to the window and find out everybody's just screwing around. On their phones, laughing and talking, occasionally looking up at the order screen, casually bagging, hanging out with their friends. This is pretty much the normal experience, right here.
Just not answering the speaker, sometimes, because they apparently don't feel like it. I assumed that they closed early (it's 24 hours), but it turns out, they were just taking a little break. So you're sitting there with long 1am post bar lines, people waiting for 15 minutes, and then leaving ... again, only to drive past the window and see them having a good old time at all the fuss. And then again, that they weren't actually closed.
Having them PRANK you with your food. And you see it with other reviews here, too. I once finished a 14 hour day by trying to grab some breakfast and going home (not too many 24 hour options around here). I order the 'sausage egg and cheese' mcmuffins, and when I get to the window, explain I don't mean to be all detailed about it, but it's just common enough for different locations to forget different things. And how you go home, and you open up your sandwich, and it's just ...
"... just like, sausage and nothing else?" Maria laughed. "Yeah, and it sucks, because when you get home, you're tired, and you're far away!"
"Exactly. So I always make sure to say 'sausage, egg, and cheese', because it's totally disappointing when you finally get home and unwrap, and it's ... augh. And you just accept it, because you're tired."
She laughed and closed the window. Started laughing with the other kid (Jorge?). Kept looking out at me, I figured they were just checking in. Got my food, cordially left, went home, settled in, and opened it up ... only to find out what the joke was. It was literally what we'd just talked about. And there's no way it wasn't intentional. I went back only to deal with another morning manager, an older woman who just waved me off and shut me up when I tried to explain what had just happened. It was clear she was friendly with the two I was talking about, which made it even more frustrating. Now, I'm weighing whether or not it's even worth it to bring this and the other stuff up with her manager ("Cortez"?), or if he's just going to protect his buddies, as well.
And this is just one of many experiences I've had with this location: I just chose the ones the explained it best. I work for food delivery here in the COVID era, and other delivery drivers talk about avoiding this location often: we'll often reject deliveries from this place if we can afford to.
There's a better 24 hour McDonald's further down Colfax, if you want to make the extra trip. But I'd honestly say...
Read moreI am currently still sitting in the dinning room waiting for the rest of my order, but I am soooo angry I couldn’t wait to write this review! The staff at this location is ALWAYS rude! Today has been one of the worst yet! While I was waiting to be helped at the pick up counter I was taken aback by the girl at the register. I was offended for the man she was helping! I could not believe her attitude, demeanor and the snarl in her lip as she spoke to the customer with pure disgust! My intention was to mention to the manager that she probably wasn’t the best option for greeting customers first thing in the morning. I understand that people have things going on behind closed doors, we never know what someone is going through. So why force her to communicate with the public if she is struggling? However, before I even had the chance to speak to him, he warmly greeted me with “what?” No “good morning “ “welcome in”- nothing! Just WHAT. I replied I’m here to pick up for Victoria. My bag was tossed at me by said manager and the first friendly gal slammed my soda down and said “well-is this yours?” I commented to my daughter how rude the staff is and the girl began to throw her arms in the air and argue with my daughter! I have never seen her before so my guess is she’s new. This is absolutely ridiculous! From managers to crew members-rude-disrespectful-no work ethic and definitely no customer service skills!! While writing this, another employee was sent to my table with my fries, when asked what the managers name was, he laughed and said “Juan”. Come to find out his name is actually ALEX and the girl is either Janel or Chanel. So, added to my other complaints- they...
