We have been patrons of Champagne Tiger for probably a year now (I don't know, time is relative), usually going in the evening for cocktails, snacks, and dinner. We've also joined for drag brunch (so much fun) and some of their patio events (looking forward to more! They are always posting programming on social media). More recently we coordinated with Chris and Lindsay to have dinner and drinks there as part of our bachelor party weekend before heading out to Charlie's, just a quick two block walk away.
This has quickly become one of our favorite places in Denver and I am always recommending it to anybody who will listen to me. First off - the vibes are always SPOT ON. You come in and immediately feel like you are in a welcoming, inclusive space full of people who genuinely love their community and culture. It is immaculately appointed and feels very trendy without being ostentatious. The whole team there is so friendly - they remember us from our prior visits- and really provide exceptional service. Even at its busiest I have never felt rushed. For our bachelor weekend we initially were intended to be on the patio, but when inclement weather drove us indoors Chris and company were able to accommodate our huge group of 24 people in the restaurant, which I was so appreciative for.
This is my favorite place to get a cocktail in Denver. I am partial to the Princetonian myself. My friends meanwhile gravitate towards some of their seasonal offerings like the Mallardhattan and Freezer Martini. I don't always consume alcohol so have enjoyed several of their mocktails as well - sometimes these feel like a second thought on many menus but here they clearly put a lot of attention into curating their cocktail and mocktail list. The food is always fantastic (the Kim Chi grilled cheese, waffle tot, and and currently retired kale salad are some of my group's favorites - so much that they have made their best attempt to reverse engineer the kale salad at home). They are very accommodating of dietary restrictions, many of my friends are GF or vegetarian.
It would be negligent for me to not acknowledge that this is very clearly a LGBTQ+ space, but please note that it by no means feels inaccessible to anybody. You can bring your folks here, have a cute date night, or grab drinks with friends before a night out. I am so grateful to have a place like this as part of...
Read moreI just had a quick brunch - this diner is really cute!
The experience is very carefully designed - even just walking in there was a subtle waft of fresh eucalyptus. Attention has been paid to match absolutely everything in the dining area and bar to the overall aesthetic: a charming gold-and-pearl, 1960's beach club feeling, executed in a way that is self aware and tasteful, rather than gaudy. There's also a private dining space where you can schedule to bring your inner circle for a bespoke prix fixe (consultation with the chef on dietary constraints is available). I definitely recommend wearing chic casual (if only for the fun of it), rather than jorts and T-shirts.
That said, nobody will give you a sidelong glance if you don't happen to be dressed to impress. Everyone is so nice! The staff were very engaged and helpful, and everyone seemed so happy. Thanks John!
The patio is unique in Denver, as far as I know. It's a really big space, but it's sort of intentionally partitioned into little conversational clusters, so it blends intimate copses with open spaces in a cool way. There's even a sort of natural central "stage" space on the West end of the patio, and a full outdoor bar. Plus, we can access almost everywhere easily with ramps.
There are just a few select vegan options on the menu, but you can tell that these dishes were carefully considered. I would actually consider the Vegan Cashew Sando a flagship dish in terms of local vegan highlights, and I'm eager to try the vegan options on some of the dinner entrees.
I can't wait to return for a movie night (on select Thursday evenings) a drag brunch (every Sunday!) or maybe even a Wednesday for live piano. There's even a Sapphic Saturday event each month. Champagne Tiger is really doing a great job of recognizing the strength of character in our Lavender Hill neighborhood, and offering a space that is both inclusive...
Read moreAwesome midcentury modern building with the most incredible outdoor patio with a variety of intimate well appointed spaces, all are bright and cheery! Handy outdoor bar with seating. One of the top patios in Denver, a must see. Wonderful patio for a special event such as a wedding, plus reception, swank cocktail party, after work gatherings, business discussions, real estate closings, birthdays, anniversary, baby announcements or showers, bridesmaids showers or bachelor parties, family get togethers, reunions, retirement parties, etc. their patio is just the finest! I’ve never seen wait staff outside however that is easily remedied. Inside is a fun clean typical upscale diner atmosphere with terrific (fantastic) food and beverages. Very comfortable seating everywhere except for the counter seating which is in desperate need of backs on the seats and more cushion for the seat possibly. Staff is dynamite! Very upbeat and attentive with thorough knowledge of their menu and beverages. That are all quick positive hard working people who seem to genuinely care about you their customer and that you return some time. I cannot say enough positive things about the super people who work here, they are all gems! Rhinestones, rubies, diamonds, sapphires, tigers eyes, topazes, etc. Sundays are stupidly loud, quite unnecessarily so. Drag shows can easily be entertaining, classy, fun+funny and well worth attending without being bawdy obnoxious bad circus acts. Avoid weekend brunch unless you cherish exceedingly loud awful unentertaing drag shows by queens with little...
