If you only visit one place in Denver for Asian food, make sure this is the place.
We walked throughout most of downtown and were disappointed with the boba and tea selection until we found Tea Cloud. The flavor is great, and the boba is actually cooked properly. The food is fresh and fantastic. Being from Texas, Southern hospitality isn't something we expected here in Denver, the family here are a prime example of how to be warm and hospitable. The atmosphere is definitely laid back, the murals are dope and skillfully done. They have lo-fi music playing to keep things chill.
We came in quietly with the traveling chios in their space ships. When the family complimented the bags, we turned around to reveal the little stinkers, even a few of the customers were surprised. The family started talking to us about their baby poodle at home. They showed us videos of their little fur baby playing around. We asked if we could let the little ones out, they were more than accommodating, they brought out treats for the littles. Not all places allow pets, but we did our best to stay away from the food and in the corner so to not disturb anyone.
The sushi is fresh and high quality. The spam musubi is definitely a must try. We couldn't decide on one drink, and both were actually good. It wasn't watered down tea or overly sugary drinks, but you could actually taste what is supposed to be in the drinks.
Tea Cloud is definitely a place that you want to support and want to be successful, I feel they exhibit the best traits of Denver and should be added to your list of places that you must visit. I know I'll put off other places to make sure I can stop by to support every time we visit Denver...
Read moreAlso ventured into Tea Cloud during the past week. It has been in the red sandstone Boston Building for more than 10 years, probably longer than most of the other boba shops in town. The street art decor was kind of audacious, but the overall ambience was modern and cozy. They could serve their boba drinks in cold brew, vegan, ice, blended or hot and also served a varieties of loose leaf teas. They used jasmine green for most of their one of the kinds boba teas mixed with fruits and flowers. For the more adventurous and creative, customers could also mix and match their own flavors. Before they prepared the drink, they would mix a sample for customers to taste whether the sweetness and flavor were as expected. They prepared their boba in house and cooked it to the desired texture and consistency, so the boba was well done, chewy and lightly sweet. Besides the drinks, they also served freshly prepare pokes. Ordered their Sunshine Paradise, which mixed jasmine green tea with whole milk, mango juice, peach juice and boba. The drink was well balanced between the flavors of the green tea and the juices, with a light tea and fruit aroma. Quite different from the taste of other boba drinks I was used to, but very refreshing. Yes, the boba was indeed chewy but not half done or sticky. Glad to have this specialty boba shop right at the Central...
Read moreThe employees were kind, but they make you pay before making your bowl, so it makes it difficult to pay for add ons. The amount of fish you get for your money is comical. I got "3 scoops" of protein. My octopus scoop had 3 thin slices. The tuna and salmon each had 3-5 small cubes of meat. Then, the person I perceived to be the owner, said that they "only use sashimi grade fish for their poke and that is why they cost more." It must have cost more than ANY other poke place that I have been to. I'm not sure why someone would do this. You can't even taste the difference with all of the toppings and sauces. You wouldn't buy expensive kamatoro and then cover it with toppings. It would be hard to taste the difference when there is a huge difference in price. They did try to make it better by adding a miniscule amount more since I was unhappy. It's the thought that counts and that's why they get 4 stars instead of 3. I eat poke all across the country and have never gotten such little fish for a $14+ tax poke bowl. I really hope that they get this figured out. They seemed nice, so I would like to see their business succeed. That being said, I will not be going back. Also, I ordered a fruit tea blended and with lychee jelly. When I got back to my vehicle, it had Boba instead of lychee jelly and...
