I have been here twice now and have had an awful experience both times so I will not be coming back. First time I came in with a clear bottle of water and the cashier (white lady) told me I could not drink water in the store. I feel bad for the workers because surely they can't drink water in the store either and must get pretty thirsty. Second time just occurred. Two of my coworkers and I went in today at lunch to get a bottle of wine. Upon first walking in, we had to leave all food and drinks on a barrel. I have never had to do this at a liquor store in my life. The next thing that occurred was I set a bottle on the check out counter to read the ingredients and the cashier (asian guy) jumped on my case. Pretty sure I am more likely to drop the bottle holding it than I am to set it on the counter. This left me further confused where people set bottles when they are checking out. Once we decided to check out, my coworker put his valid Texas government issued verticle ID card and his government issued license to carry card on the counter (not sure if this was allowed either). The cashier told him that neither card was acceptable and told him to leave the store. I then had to purchase the drinks myself so I tossed my ID out of my wallet onto the counter and grabbed my credit card. The cashier told me if I was going to have an attitude and throw my card at him that he wasn't going to serve me. I 100% did not throw my card at him. I thought he was joking so I tried to tap my card to pay and he grabbed the bottle and walked off and told me to get out of his store. Never in my life have I been treated so poorly at a store and would encourage everyone to get their liquor...
Read moreGO TO BLAKE STREET LIQUORS. It’s an extra 4 minutes of walking that will save you about $15+
It is pretty rare that I go out of my way to review a place, but this store is unacceptable in its current state. First off, this store smells like what cats would smell like if they could sweat. When I walked in, I watched a woman leaving the store gagging because she couldn’t handle it anymore. But that’s not what this review is even about. I can handle a bad smell if the price equates.
The prices in this shop… I will describe the prices at Blake street vs here: Jonnie Walker is $40 at Blake, $53 at Champa I didn’t get any other prices at Blake, but I took note of the prices of a few other items at Champa: $34 for tullamore dew, $20 for fireball, $40 for makers mark. Blake does not charge anywhere near these prices. DO NOT SUPPORT PRICE GOUGING. WALK THE EXTRA 4 MINUTES...
Read moreGreat liquor store on the 16th St. Mall! Prices are higher (it's Downtown Denver! and in the middle of the Mall). Lindsey, "CDC guidelines" aren't what businesses in DENVER have to follow. Establishments have to follow guidance from the City and County of Denver. Notice your credibility is nose-diving.
There are THREE signs leading up to the store stating that you must put your mask on before entering. From your recount, it sounds like you still entered the business without a mask and were told to PUT your mask on... it's not our fault you needed to be treated like a 3-year-old.
Next time, follow instructions that the clerks are having to follow too. Don't like the tone when, yet again, they have to remind yet another person (THREE signs...) to put on their mask? Well, learn how to read and follow instructions and your shopping experience will be a MUCH different...
