I booked for an afternoon tea party. We paid the set price for booking but I got confused on the per person charge for the party. I think if you state at the top of your page that there is a max of 9 to 12 people for the certain parties instead of saying the set price at this party rate and then stating the 9 to 12 people it just all together is confusing. Even with you saying at the top per person I honestly thought the price would have been calculated since you asked how many would be attending and such.
Anyways that was my own confusion. The tiny older bookstore is really cute and the snacks supplied were okay but I feel like if your gonna charge per person there should have been more of the snacks supplied and maybe even more of a variety that you let the people choose what they want. We had our party down stairs and there was very many times we waited 30 plus minutes till even being able to order and then another 30 or so until we received it. Also did not get as much tea as I had wanted because of the waiting to the point that we just left early because it would take them reminder of the time to even get the tea brewed. I feel this is very unprofessional especially for the price that was charged and paid. We also wanted several teas that they said they could not make. Which again for that price I think it's insane. If you don't have it inform us before we start the party. We also had a person who did not eat or drink anything. And I was still charged for her. All together I would not book again. Not a tea party anyways. The tea was amazing I will say, just don't think worth the 450 we paid tho. I would not recommend doing the tea party. Maybe some point to make for the business state on your page that your room price does not include the amount of the people you have and that it's set this price per person as well as the price for I'm assuming the room. Also if you have someone who booked a party. Put one worker that is just for that party. The customer service was not great. Loved the ladies they were sweet just felt they didn't ask for us to get more tea when they should have, you state it's unlimited why are you making it hard for the people to get what they paid for then? Also my last point maybe give options that the people can choose from and add more quantity especially when you have 9 people I just felt that wasn't even a snack it was just a single taste for everyone. (And one of the people didn't eat anything so it...
Read moreI hate to write a bad review, especially for a small woman owned business but I felt it necessary for this situation. First, I had called a few weeks in advance to make reservations for my sorority sisters as we were planning an event. The owner gladly accepted us and asked for my name and we left it at that. I had a hunch I needed to call to confirm our reservations so I called on Thursday and the owner did not have us down. She didn’t even recall our conversation until I started reminding her of things we talked about. She then took my name, number and deposit down. I would like to add that now would have been the time for her to tell me of her policy but she did not. That brings us to today, we had 12 women who planned on attending and only 7 showed up, one of them testing positive for covid just THIS MORNING… I understand the frustration with preparing for 12 people and only having 7 show up but I had told her of the missing individuals before she even served us (which was 40 minutes after we sat down). She has plenty of time to readjust serving sizes, but didn’t. This would have been her second opportunity to let me know what her policy is with no-shows. So, the check comes and the owner adds that we will be paying for the no-shows. Because our group is respectful we paid her despite our frustration and the owners lack of letting us know her policy ahead of time or adjusting serving sizes before serving us. I also wanted to add that not only did it take her 40 minutes to bring our scones but she checked on us 2 times throughout our 2.5 hour visit and we had to go up to get the custard she said she would bring. There is no policy on her website stating that no shows will be charged either. To say this was totally uncalled for is an understatement-the owner obviously wanted to make a point. I will never be back here and I will be sharing with my community to support other tea houses. What was supposed to be a fun day turned into a frustrating experience and I would rather my money go towards someone that will respect my time, efforts to support...
Read moreWas absolutely excited to have a group tea at this cute, small, woman owned business. Walked in and smelled like home! I got the feeling from the owner that she was annoyed ( can’t think of a better analogy) by us…? We tried to be kind in spite of it. We were supposed to have 12 people at our tea. One tested positive for covid that morning. 6 of us showed and the other five stood us up. All of this was revealed within 20 minutes of us arriving. This is tea. And scones. The same scones that were for sale In a case as we left. Quiche, that was cut into pieces so I have no idea if it was made for us that morning or yesterday. It WAS delicious. Everything was. But there was NOTHING that was made especially for our group. So IMAGINE OUR SURPRISE when the owner charged us for the people who no showed. Even the sick person. I wonder what it was about us that angered this owner so much? She literally checked on us 2 times in 2 hours. Someone from our group had to go up and get the lemon curd for the scones. Someone else from the group had to bring up the leftovers to be bagged to go. We were respectful. We didn’t argue when she told us we must pay. I just really wonder why she...
