My boyfriend and I tried to have brunch here around 11am on 3/23. This place is usually pretty busy with a lot of tourist traffic, but the restaurant was only about half full which was a huge red flag at their busiest time of day.
We were sat right next to the register up front which was odd for an fairly empty restaurant, but it didn't really bother us. What did bother us was all the staff that was talking to customers, themselves, and other coworkers yet no one came to greet us. After 5 minutes a very nice lady came by and dropped off two glasses of water. A few minutes later I walked up to the register where the hostess and a waitress were talking and I let them know that we hadn't seen anyone and if we had anyone assigned to our table (I know things can get missed and some wait staff can get behind occasionally)? They assured me there was and no attempt was made to let anyone know we were there again we knew this because I was sat next to the register facing the hostess. A few minutes later we left because after about 12 minutes of no recognition there really wasn't a point staying. I let the hostess know what happened and she seemed pretty indifferent about it.
I've been going to Delectable Egg restaurants for decades. I've gone to the one on 120th enough that I knew the manager and most of the wait staff before I moved. I moved to Aurora and went to the one on Quebec, great restaurant. The atmosphere at this location is terrible, but it's downtown, what can you expect? Combine it with terrible service and it really doesn't matter how good (usually excellent) the food can be. I've tried this place several times over the past couple of years that I've been in Denver and it's a hard pass from now on. I can walk here in 5 minutes from my house and I'd still rather drive further to a better restaurant....
Read moreI just tried to come in for a nice meal and was asked to leave because of my service animal. We have been in there before with him and nobody said anything (although the staring both times was pretty obvious). Its embarrassing and annyoing for people to act like because my disability is not "obvious" that it means that can or should question it.
My dog is very well behaved. He rides in a stroller, he was laying inside facing the wall, sleeping and never made a single noise. I understand that an establishment may ask, but to be confronted and asked to leave before even asking if he is a service animal when hes wearing a vest AND it is very clearly displayed in a sign attached to his stroller.
For everyone's "comfort" I'd be avoiding this place if you have a service animal, although we wont be going back with or without my dog(who has never spent even half a day away from me since I got him).
After being asked to leave, i was confronted by what appeared to be a manager who asked me to show her "papers" for my dog WHICH IS COMPLETLE ILLEGAL. You are allowed to ask me 2, TWO questions
Is that a service animal? YES What type of service does he provide? He Alerts me of a medical need.
Refusing my service was unnecessary and against the law, and embarrassing. What kind of ableist feels the necessity to question my disability simply because I have a clearly marked service animal (who absolutly nobody would have noticed if he wasnt in a big purple stroller) just because I'm not "obviously" disabled? If I were blind and had a dog in should highly doubt that they ever would have questioned me, and that is fundamentally wrong with regards to how people view others with disabilities and I dont at all appreciate your harrassment..
ZERO STARS.. you'll be lucky IF I decide to let this pass and not...
Read moreWe were visiting Denver and were looking for breakfast! This location came up on Google as a possible option. The pictures of the food and somewhat high reviews made this places super appealing! It’s a cute atmosphere, fast services, and our waitress was very kind. She told us that everything on the menu is delicious and we would not make a mistake in choosing anything on the menu! My husband ordered steak and eggs, with house style potatoes and added hash brows, (he loves potatoes lol) he ordered his steak well. I ordered egg and steak tacos with house style potatoes at the recommendation of our waitress. She said that the chef seasons them better than the hasbrowns. Please believe me when I tell you that this food was extremely bland. The steaks had no flavor, not even a beefy flavor. They were tender and cooked to perfection, but there was NO FLAVOR. At first I thought something was wrong with me. I took some salt and sugar from the table to see if I was still able to taste them!!! The salt had NO seasoning. Every bite just felt like chewing into water, unseasoned tofu. The tortillas were cold when they got to the table. The home style potatoes were not seasoned. I feel like the hash browns had more flavor. Over all it was a very underwhelming experience. I would never return or recommend this to anyone. It was 50 dollars for two of us. No fancy drinks, nothing extra besides the hash browns. I’m giving two stars because their services was quick...
