As far as chain restaurants go featuring American cuisine, the Yard House is one of the ones that I've found to be the most consistent with their food. I've visited in various states including CA, CO, FL, GA, AZ and NV. I can always count on getting a decent (if not great) plate of food, friendly service, and fun atmosphere. As other reviewers have mentioned, they have a good amount of screens but not so many that they're a loud, annoying distraction. On this visit we tried some passionfruit lemonade which was very very sweet. Old time favorite fried calamari which didn't disappoint, tomato bisque, orange chicken, and vampire tacos. The orange chicken was good, the chicken itself was tender on the inside with a great crispy, crunchy battered outside. The sauce was a little on the sweet side for me but it did have a little kick which was nice to counter the sweet. I LOVE their tomato bisque soup! It's always so good! The vampire tacos sounded really good on paper, but, they disappointed đ. As a garlic lover I really, really wanted to love this dish. I was really excited to try them. The flavor just wasn't there and the texture of the tortilla with the cheese was weird. The sides were the best tasting items on this plate. Loved the beans and the rice. I only ate one of the tacos, my daughter tried one and we left the 3rd one. My daughter described this taco as a "fancy" version of a Taco Bell chalupa. I wouldn't know, I don't eat Taco Bell because it upset my stomach so much the last time I had it in 1986 đ. So, if you like Taco Bell, maybe this is right up your alley. The rest of the food was great. For dessert we shared a slice of carrot cake which was delicious. Not a homemade tasting slice of carrot cake by any means, but it was good and the cream cheese frosting was extra sweet. It was a very busy night and our server was nice. The reason for the 3 starts is because we always get awesome attentive servers at Yard House but this time was the exception. We had to hunt her down for refills and when I ordered coffee to have with dessert she served it and when I asked for cream and sugar she said "oh just so you know we have no more creamer" I said that's too bad, had I known that in advance I wouldn't have ordered coffee. Her response was "sorry but I already poured it" and she walked away. Seriously??? đ€Šââïž I probably won't go back to this location, not because of the food, but because of...
Read moreI think this place gets away with being as noisy as it is with very good acoustics. I've never really had a huge issue with hearing the people I'm around in this place. That being said, it is exceptionally dark so for someone who has difficulty seeing you might need to bring a friend. The classic rock combines with the New age cuisine and industrial aesthetic To a perfect degree. I'm going to have to say it, I definitely like this place because I'm a hipster. But it's also a darden chain so, I guess I can have my cake and eat it too a little bit. As the name implies, this place sells yards of beer (Technically half yards due to liquor laws) And it has one of the largest selections of local beers in all of downtown. If you came to the land of stone for our foamy delights then this is a good place to start regretting that decision in the best way possible. I think they do have a private room but I'm not sure how to book it. When I worked there we mostly used it for meetings and menu stuffing. The front doors are exceptionally heavy, especially when there's any sort of weird weather going on. I have actually seen people get injured on the thing, nothing severe but please be careful. Something I wish they would let you do is a Shirley Temple version of the yards of beer. This is definitely my neurodivergence talking, but I would pay good money for a yard of root beer or Coke. I'm not always in a drinking mood, but I almost always in a stupidly large drink mode. And again, I can't stress enough. The music of this place is great. I can't tell you how many songs I've discovered just by opening up Shazam and eating. I wouldn't say bands, as a lot of the music there is just '90s grunge. Nothing wrong with '90s grunge in my opinion. But that does mean that I do know most of the artists already... Last thing I'll leave on is this is not a casual place, That's fine. Everything I've just said before, this is a very nice restaurant designed for large parties. Expect to pay a lot...
Read moreI was attending a conference Aug 18-20 at the Downtown Denver Sheraton where this restaurant is at. We went there for dinner Saturday night. The steak my boyfriend ordered was raw when it was brought to the table and my burger was under-cooked. The MOD was so embarrassed that he gave is our entire $100 bill for free and a $50 gift card. I'm sure it was so we wouldn't sue. Since the cards expire end of year and we won't be back until Aug 2024 for the same conference we went back Sunday. The food was fine this time but the server was rude, inattentive, and short with us. One of our party of 4 had a meeting to go to so ordered his to go on a separate ticket. Even though he was given his own ticket and paid, the server still tried to put his order on our ticket. We won't be coming a 3rd time. Edit: Follow up to reply received. Good morning. Thanks for reaching out to me. You get one chance in life to make a good impression. I gave you 2. As far as I'm concerned, you're 0 for 2. The fact we gave you a 2nd chance using a gift card we essentially got for free and your server still managed to make it a horrible experience is unacceptable! Yes, the issues were resolved but, they're issues that should never have happened to begin with! They make it look like you have incompetent buffoons with 0 experience running the show during armature hour, not experienced professionals. It's inexcusable as the mistakes are so basic and things any home cook or person who eats out knows how to avoid. TBH, I wonder if our server was high the 2nd night as she seemed out of it and her demeanor did not match that of a professional. I'm local and would be happy to talk with the GM in person. I've never been here prior to the 2 nights mentioned, and am kind of glad based on my experience. That said it's also unfortunate as your menu has many things I'd like to be back for, but my experience tells me to find other...
