This has probably been one of the worst experiences at Red Robin, and I'm honestly not coming back :/
It's Sunday evening, it's slow. You'd think maybe the service would be a bit quicker, but things were unfortunately delayed. We ordered two appetizers and got the second one AFTER we were done with half of our entrees. The appetizer was also cold because it turns out it was left on the window the entire time
The server was alright. Felt sort of judged when ordering but maybe I'm just sensitive. Although, when asking about the egg he mentioned it being overhard. I said I wanted my eggs a bit runny, he answered with "all our eggs are normally runny"
Then it's not overhard, my guy :'))) He got my drink mixed up which is fine, it's no big deal. This other guy had delivered it and when I mentioned it being another drink, he took both the drink and my straw for some reason umu it made me sad
So when the OG server walked up and we asked for a straw, he said he'd get it. The thing was, he already had straws in his pocket, he just walked away to get another one xD this made us laugh, honestly
The way things were brought out, again, was very slow paced
I understand that covid has affected EVERYONE, civilians and industries alike. Everywhere is short staffed and that's okay! It's completely normal, understandable, and forgiving.
BUT It's a Sunday night with only 4-6 tables. To have so many errors is beyond me, honestly
And then there's the food. I mentioned it was cold, yes. The cheese on my burger wasn't even melted 😔 I had also ordered the Scorpion wings and was looking forward to those!
But those were the ones that were brought late, and were the coldest meal. I was expecting spicy, of course. But, I wasn't expecting it to JUST be spicy. There was no flavor to it other than the swift kick to the taste buds of the pepper (and I'M a spice lover mind you)
Overall, the service was lower than average and the food had absolutely no love in it. As someone who enjoys the art of cooking, you can taste the difference between someone who cooks to cook and someone who does it with love. Give them the same ingredients and you can tell
It just sucks because me and my wife used to LOVE coming here back in the day, but now it's just a hollow shell of sad, mostly burnt burgers :( if I were you, I'd come in only for the drinks and apps, but other than that I'd just skip the restaurant...
Read moreSo I had a bit of a mixed impression over this particular location. Since it's on I drive and near the Orlando eye you end up parking in back and having to walk around the front of the building. From the outside they didn't look too busy. we got in and realized they were actually fairly busy even though it was around 1:30 in the afternoon. I asked if we could have a table or a half table and they seated us very quickly. It seemed like social distancing was done fairly well. Our server arrived quickly took our drink orders and I let them know we were celebrating birthdays. There were friendly and very helpful. Our drinks were brought quickly and we went over the menu as one of our party had never been to Red Robin before. Our server returned and took our order and we relaxed. While we were waiting a family was brought in and sat at the table immediately next to us. I wasn't too happy with this. Our appetizer arrived and looked excellent. It was a fairly long wait for our food but we were in no hurry. Winter food arrived everything looked amazing and tasted great. We did not see our server often because the restaurant had gotten so busy. At one point we were asked if we wanted more fries and I said yes we would and it was an extremely long wait to receive them. As in I was maybe halfway through my meal when we asked for them and I was completely finished with my meal by the time they arrived. There was also the fact that between three of us they only brought us one order. For me this was probably the most disappointing thing I have had happen at a Red Robin in The last 5 years. When my youngest was still working on their meal but just about finished with their fries the server stop by and asked if they would like more and they said yes. These arrived extremely quickly. The time differential was not a happy thing. During this time they also sat a second family immediately next to our table. With this in mind I don't plan on going back to this location but I won't give up on Red Robin itself. The only redemption they had was friendly service and ice cream sundaes for all of us celebrating a birthday. While we did enjoy our meal I was really unhappy with their covid practices. They did wear masks and they were cleansing between customers at tables but with a lack of social distancing they defeat most of the purpose in what the CDC recommends. I hope something can be...
Read moreHad an unfortunate service experience with this particular Red Robin. Food was over-priced for what we got. Was left waiting for 20 minutes for silverware when we had "bottomless" salads. The salads were tiny and we only got one refill. Drink refills were slow. Fry refills were slow. Service was abysmal. We asked for the silverware 3 times. Spent $100 for 3 burgers, a couple bottomless fries, 5 drinks, and 2 bottomless salads. Was left waiting all the time. one of the burgers needed to be remade and it came out long after our other two kids had polished off their burgers. Waitress apologized for service by explaining she was hung over... in front of our kids. Had a manager deliver food and they didn't ask how it was going. Got the feeling they knew and couldn't fix it.
Let Red Robin know about this experience. Got a call back. They were sorry I had an unfortunate experience and gave me a $30 credit. Sorry but that only about covers tip and tax these days for a family of 5. I will not be going back to this location and will seriously consider every going to Red Robin again. I've recently been to Chili's, Applebee's, and Fridays and had an all around better experience at each of them with full meals for all of us for the same price.
In general, Red Robin is OK if you get the bottomless refills they sell you on. If you don't then it's overpriced and a terrible deal. I really can't recommend the International Drive location to anyone. Bad management. Also corporate make-right experience is lackluster. Should have comped the whole meal. This was, by a long shot, the worst restaurant experience I can remember. I regret feeling sorry enough to leave any tip for the waitress. In her defense, and to this location's shame, I think there wasn't enough staff in the kitchen...
