UPDATE: Since they moved to their new location, the service is MUCH better. My previous review was when they were at the Federal Way mall.
I came here on November 16th and this new location is huge and beautiful. The waitresses are much friendlier and much more attentive. We had a party of 12 and the restaurant was packed but our waitress was amazing.
I will start going back to this location again.
PLEASE NOTE: I COULD NOT GIVE THEM ZERO STARS....IN ORDER TO POST THIS REVIEW I HAD TO CLICK ON ONE STAR!!!!!
I have eaten at this restaurant many times in the past and have NEVER had a problem here until last night, Sunday, January 14, 2018.
We were here celebrating 2 birthdays and there were 9 of us. First off, our waitress was extremely slow. We had already been to the grill and we were sitting down eating our food and our soup and drinks were not even brought out. I was done with my food by the time our drinks were brought to the table. Our waitress did not even bring any wraps, nor did she ask if we wanted any.
While at the grill, I had one bowl for me and one bowl for my 5 year old grand-daughter. The cook asked me if the bowls were together and I said, yes, meaning that me and my grand-daughter were together. He proceeded to dump both bowls together. OK, no big deal....I will just ask for an extra plate and I will split the food between me and my grand-daughter. I asked the cook for an extra plate and he proceeded to tell me very rudely "NO, you cannot have an extra plate". When I told him there was confusion about "if the bowls were together", he rudely said "you told me that they were together". I was extremely angry and stormed back to my table with the food. One of the other cooks gave my grand-daughter an empty plate and she brought it back to the table. I was about to split the food, when the waitress grabbed the plate out of my grand-daughter's hands and handed her a very tiny plate. I was shocked!! So, I put some of the food on the little tiny plate for my grand-daughter.
I told my son what had happened with the cook and he went to the grill to confront the rude cook. The cook was not professional at all and he began to argue with my son in front of the other customers. NOT VERY PROFESSIONAL AT ALL!!!!!
After we were done eating, our waitress was getting the ages of my grandkids. I told her the littlest one is 5. She rudely said "I know!!". When she took the orders for the ice cream, all wanted vanilla ice cream, but one wanted sherbet. Everyone was finished with their ice cream by the time the waitress came back with the sherbet.
If they had not added on the 15% automatic gratuities for a large party, I would not have left a cent for them as a tip!!!! The waitress was slow and rude and the cook was EXTREMELY rude and was not professional at all. The cook I am referring to is the young Asian cook and he wears glasses. The older cooks are very kind and very professional.
As much as I have enjoyed eating here in the past.....I WILL NOT RETURN TO THIS LOCATION. The Kent location is much nicer and friendlier. I will be going to the Kent location from now on. Perhaps the owner or manager from this Federal Way location should take the time to read these reviews, as I have seen several negative reviews about this Federal...
Read moreSo my wife, daughter, and I. Came into this location for my daughters 2nd birthday. We thought it would be a great place since. My daughter loves pasta. And they have a lot of different noodles. We were use to the Kansas City, Mo location as we just moved from Missouri to wa state. We drove an hour just to get there with high hopes and my daughter was excited. After arriving we were asked by a Russian lady that was a waitress . “2 adults and one kid?” I said “yes it’s my daughter’s 2nd birthday and she’s going to love this place!” The lady rolled her eyes and said “this way” to seat us. We ate, the lady went to 3 different tables asking kids if they wanted ice cream. She was out server and never asked us once. Of course my daughter being 2 her eyes got huge when she kept hearing the lady ask different tables if they wanted ice cream. So finally after us being left at the table without the waiter asking us if we wanted ice cream or drinks or anything. We stopped a different waitress and asked if we could get our daughter some ice cream please it’s her birthday and if we can order drinks. So a different server that wasn’t ours was so polite and met all our requests. At the time of departure. The Russian lady came back to our table and slammed a check on our table aggressively and when I looked at the bill she charged us for 3 adults. Yes, if your reading this you are correct she charged a 2 year old birthday girl a adult $24.99 price that was supposed to be charged $6.50. My wife asked her why and she rolled her eyes and walked off and told us to pay while walking off. I asked her kindle to talk to a manager when she came back our way. Her exact words were. “We don’t have a manger.” After going up front I discovered not only do they have a manager but he’s also the owner and was working up front. I adresssd my concerns with him. I also told him I’d be leaving this review. He said “Look if your going to leave a review I will not change this total.” I said, what do you mean so you just rob people my daughter is 2 years old and small. Your sign says children under 3 is $6.50 as long as they share with parents. He said and I quote, “Im not saying it’s right but if you are going to leave a review about my waitress then the bill sticks.” This location is beyond racist and disrespectful. Then the owner recognized me and said. “Aren’t you the doctor that’s on the billboards?” I said yes, all of a sudden he was apologetic and accommodating. Even tried to ask me if I can do a good review and post online for more customers and offered me money to do it. However, when he thought I was just a regular African American civilian getting a bite with his family I was treated like trash. I would not go to this location if I were you the people are...
Read moreBeware of the 4ft child rule. Total rip off. If a child is over 4 feet tall he or she is considered an adult. This is height shaming. I could understand if this was a rollercoaster ride at an amusement park, but this is a restaurant, albeit "all you can eat." However, just because a child is over 4 feet that doesn't determine how much food they can consume. I've been coming to this restaurant since it was located at the Commons Mall and this is the first time I've experienced this. I brought this to the attention of a family that was on the way in and they had children...they turned right around and left. The bill for the 3 of us was $83! My Son and my Wife only had one plate because they said their stomachs ached after eating! I had 3 plates and it was delicious but not $83 delicious. We should of just went to Tokyo steakhouse! I will never ever return to this establishment again. Management was rude as soon as she approached she made an unprofessional comment to get my attention when I was having a conversation with a woman that couldn't believe there was a height restriction for children and furthermore, they kept referring to my 9 yr old Son as an adult because he is 4 ft 9in. tall. The manager rudely stated, "Are you gonna talk to her or are you gonna talk too me!" My back was turned so I didn't even know she had walked up. What she should of said was..."Excuse me Sir."
Nonetheless, the place needs to fix this gray area of calling a child an adult because they are over 4ft tall. Like I stated, all they need to do is have a message on the chalk board that says children over 4ft tall $22.99 it's that easy. I said what if a little person comes in, and I was told they would check their identification. That's discrimination!
In Addition, STOP HEIGHT SHAMING CHILDREN! JASMINE MONGOLIAN GRILL YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER THAN THAT. BODY SHAMING IS WRONG! NO WAY A LIL KID SHOULD BE CHARGED AS AN ADULT, NO MATTER THEIR HEIGHT!
My Son felt bad saying "I should of just ate more." I told him, "no, you are not the problem, it's when profits are put over people and people make decisions that are insensitive just to make money, that's the issue...actually you nor I or your Mother should have eaten here at all!" With all that said...I should have read the board instead of happily taking my family into a restaurant that uses unethical practices of stature shaming on children. I apologize to my Wife and Son for leading them into a semantic...
