I tried my very first banh mi from the Toast Mi location in Tacoma (shoutout to my friend) and that set the bar really high for me. I haven’t been able to find a better banh mi other than Toast Mi’s so I was ecstatic when I heard they were opening one in Fed Way close to the Commons! They are currently having a soft opening promotion from 5/9/24 (Thurs) to 5/17/24 (Fri) where you get a 10% discount off your entire purchase. I went yesterday and today and, on both days, the staff was very friendly, the space was clean, the service was fast, and the food was so good I’m obsessed. I always recommend Toast Mi because of their fresh bread and house sauce (basil-cilantro aioli), and I love that they also serve salad bowls. My go-to order is usually the Mekong banh mi (grilled pork) or the grilled pork salad bowl without rice (when I’m trying to cut down on carbs lol), but sometimes I get the grilled beef instead. I haven’t tried the other meat options or the drinks yet, but those are definitely next on my list. I ordered takeout on both days, but the atmosphere inside is very inviting and it seems like a nice place to hang out and grab a quick bite either by yourself or with a friend. Overall, this place does not disappoint and I’m so excited to keep coming back for more!

I ordered the imperial which is 2 choices of meat, and fried egg. I picked grilled chicken and pork. Second sandwich was grilled beef. They do not skimp on the meat!! I thought my fave was this other place but Toast mi is better! My guy liked his sandwich as well. There are pictures on the wall that the bahn mi's are named after. Cool idea. Service was great, and I got a sample of Ube coffee which was delicious. Nice, clean spot.

Today was my first time here and I was beyond impressed. I ordered the imperial special with extra veggies. The meat was incredibly flavorful, the bread was fresh and soft and the portions was plentiful ! This place definitely deserves a better location as it's kind of tucked away. I will be coming here much more often,

Update 12/22/24: Idk what happened since I came last a week or two ago, I've come here atleast 20+ times in about 6 months and my sandwich today was really bad compared to the usual. The bread is soggy and gross, there's hardly any sauce on it, and the jalapenoes are extremely spicy to the point it hurts and is not enjoyable. Usually the bread is toasted with enough sauce and just enough jalapeno to make it spiicy but not intolerable. I'm really disappointed since this has been my go to place for a long time, afraid I will need to find a new place. The girls looked brand new, sad to see the old crew moved on.

Favorite Bhan mi spot in fed way! I tried honey bear out of curiosity and it just wasn't as good as toast mi. I've came back around 5+ times to toast mi and it never disappoints. Meat is tasty/seasoned well, all ingredients are fresh including the bread, plus they have a decent selection of drinks. Girls are always friendly and sweet. You won't regret it,...

Great food but lady at front counter does not pay attention to detail (what you order). First time there she forgot to add an extra fried egg to my order, I let that slide. Today (01/06/2025) being a new year I try them again and she got my whole order wrong. She also made me wait as there were online order pick ups coming in to get food to deliver and she puts me to the side to do that. So I waited an extra 10 minutes for my food. My food portion was skimpy as if my 5 year old child was eating this. The food is good but the service sucks! They need a new cashier person at the front to take orders and also give you decent portions, especially since messing up on the order. I ordered two number 12. I will not be going here again any time soon maybe never. The location in Tacoma is great!!! Federal Way...
