The good: The location, club atmosphere, and comedians were all good. The bad: This club literally tries to squeeze every last penny that they can out of you. Doesn't management understand that if someone has a good experience, they will come back again and again, but if they don't, they won't ever be back?!
--They have a two-item minimum per person. Great, no problem, understood. HOWEVER what they fail to tell you is that they only count items purchased DURING the show, not before in the waiting area. Sleezy. The waitress came to my husband and I in the middle of the show and said that it was last call and we were required to order two more things. We said we bought two $10 glasses of wine (did I mention their prices are high?) right before the show started (which she saw when we brought them in with us) plus, we each got a cocktail during the show. She immediately raised her voice and started saying quite loudly how it's not HER fault that we didn't understand and how it's REQUIRED to buy two items a person during the show. And keep in mind this is all going on IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SHOW!!! I honestly think that the waitresses are trained to raise their voices and make a stink if someone questions them, just to make it so uncomfortable that everyone is looking at you and you are disrupting the show that you order something. --In addition to this, the host of the show made sure to announce MULTIPLE times during the evening, "Don't forget to tip your waitresses! Remember, your waitresses need appreciation too!" etc, etc. When we got our final bill, (hand-written, of course) I glanced at the total and immediately knew that it was not adding up right. We added it up and realized that they automatically added a 20% tip!!!!! There was a completely illegible hand-scribbled line at the bottom under the drinks, which I assume was the tip they added. Then, after paying with credit card, on the receipt was the typical "Tip:" and "Total:" lines. Are. You. Kidding. Me. I can't imagine how many people, especially groups, don't realize that they did this and tip an additional 15-20%.
It was a good show and a fun evening, but between all the other stuff, it just left a bad taste in our mouths and really ended the night on a low note. We won't...
Read moreI used to enjoy coming to this venue. However, a recent visit was rather negative for a few reasons. First off, they added a wall in front of the entry door to the main room. I believe this is to allow people to go out that door to the restroom and not have interference from folks outside of the room. However, this quickly gets annoying as people are constantly go in and out of that door causing the door to constantly slam and gets distracting.
Second, they have changed their ticketing from GA to GA and preferred. I chose preferred expecting to be able to sit close to the stage and arrived at a decent time to get a good table with my friend. However, we were directed to a table that was located back towards the GA area. I stated that I paid for preferred and that I would like to sit closer at one on of the number of empty tables closer to the stage. I was told we can not with no reason. When I pressed further, they stated that a company was having a holiday party and that they had bought out a number of rows. What was the point of paying extra for preferred seating? Wasted money.
Lastly, there were a number of loud tables in my area that would not stop interfering with people near me or the show. In the past, staff would have stopped this promptly and even asked people to leave. However on this night, there was a table that was mentioned multiple times to staff and nothing was done. The patrons at an adjacent table even yelled "PLESE SHUT THE F**K UP!" Nothing was done.
As for other reviews about a minimums and reservations, their website states the following at the bottom and so there should not be any surprises:
2-Item Minimum PURCHASE PER PERSON. Customers must be 18 and up to enter. Valid ID's are Required For Every Guest! Prices are for general admission & don't apply to special events. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to the show to keep your...
Read moreThe show we saw Shelly Belly was great! So fun and she was a hoot! However this review is for Hyenas- The door opens at 7pm- 1 hour before show- they have a bar and lounge area but make you wait upstairs until 7, I don’t understand that. So with it being 108 outside thirty so people were crowded in a tiny upstairs landing space. Why not have people check in and spread out or slowly let the line trickle in and wait in the beautiful downstairs space. The man checking tickets in was grumpy and not welcoming at all. When we were seated - just fyi the tables and seats are PACKED in. I understand that thought process but people have to be able to cross their legs or stretch. The wait staff needs space to serve drinks…. I was handling food and drinks off to the people next to us all night… I think a few inches wouldn’t be too much to ask. When we did try to move our chairs just a few inches the server behind us spoke rather rudely and said we had to stop and move back. He tried to say the people at our table won’t bite us, but I didn’t know them and I didn’t necessarily want to sit with strangers, but ok I have to but doesn’t meant I have to be touching them! Yes the chairs are that close to each other. Also the chairs are very uncomfortable! I was sitting on a spring or something. The beers we got were stale like old. The limes were brown and nasty. The people next to us got nachos and said they were awful. Stale chips, bad guacamole and looked like the nachos you made in college from the microwave. Honestly they have a great space. Buy some better chairs, spread them out a tad more open the downstairs prior to show and let people feel more comfortable and you could make money. The two drink minimum is not a problem but at the same time being forced to buy something when you already bought tickets or having a bad experience leaves a bad taste...
