Let me tell you about my culinary adventure at Mi Cocina. Now, picture this: I stroll into this joint, ready to sink my teeth into some sizzling, mouthwatering goodness. I order their beef fajitas, chicken fajitas, and to top it off, the legendary Ribeye al Carbon. I was ready to have a meat feast fit for a king, and boy, did they deliver!
Before we dive into the carnivorous extravaganza, let's talk about the wait. Now, I'm a patient guy, but let me tell ya, waiting for the food at Mi Cocina felt like an eternity. It's like they had to go out and wrangle those fajitas fresh from the wild, or maybe the chef was in a staring contest with the grill. Nonetheless, I could feel my stomach doing somersaults of anticipation. Patience, they say, is a virtue. Well, my friends, I must have leveled up in virtue that day.
To kill time and tame the beastly hunger that threatened to consume me, I had no choice but to resort to the age-old tradition of chips and salsa. And let me tell you, those chips were crispier than a freshly laundered dollar bill. The salsa had a kick that could knock you off your barstool and into a world of flavor. It was like a salsa dance in my mouth, with each bite leading me deeper into a spicy, tomatoey wonderland.
Now, finally, the moment of truth arrived. The fajitas were brought forth like a procession of sizzling beauties. The beef fajitas had the perfect sear, tender as a lullaby, and marinated in flavors that could make a cow weep with joy. The chicken fajitas were a succulent symphony, each bite juicier than the last. And then, oh, the Ribeye al Carbon. Let me tell you, folks, this steak was so good, I swear it could've brought a vegetarian back to the dark side.
As I devoured these masterpieces, I couldn't help but snap a few pictures. It was like trying to capture the essence of seduction on a plate. I mean, who needs a Tinder profile when you have these food pics to entice your potential suitors?
So, my friends, if you're ready to embark on a Mexican flavor adventure that will tantalize your taste buds and test your patience, Mi Cocina is the place to be. Just make sure to bring a good book or a knockout comedy routine to keep yourself entertained. Trust me, it'll be...
Read moreWe had a delightful experience last night at Mi Cocina at Sundance Square in Ft Worth. We very rarely drive downtown from our home in the suburbs but wanted to hear the live music and take in a meal on the patio in this perfect fall weather. We found a place to park in front of Mi Cocina but weren’t too sure about parking there. I ducked inside the restaurant and talked to the hostess while my hubs waited in the car. She sweetly explained that we might get a ticket if we parked there and told me where a free parking garage was located around the corner. I stayed there while hubby drove to find the garage. He called in a few minutes and was having trouble finding it. I went back in the restaurant and the hostess actually walked outside with me so she could explain to me exactly where the garage was as I talked to hubs on the phone. He found the parking garage and walked over to Mi Cocina (right around the corner). We were seated in the patio and had a very attentive and personable server, Jaime. Now for the food - it was delicious, hot and flavorful. I had the Shrimp Brochette and hubs had a platter with lots of traditional Tex Mex options. So good! Chips were hot and salty and plentiful! We are non drinkers but even the iced tea was good. A delightful experience which has convinced us to leave the suburbs more often and return to Mi Cocina. Side note - we watched several cars being ticketed where we were originally planning to park! So thank you again to the attentive hostess (sweet gal with dark...

I don't know whether they are under new management or what, but this experience was much better. It wasn't too busy, and we were seated right way. Our server, Jehiel, was outstanding - we never ran out of chips, salsa, or drinks. We had shrimp brochette (yummy poblano cream sauce), nachos locos, and nachos mi tierra (all great), and Jehiel brought us flan for dessert that was very good. We'll probably stop in again next month. We stopped in for dinner after the symphony last week. The guacamole was good, but the enchiladas were not, and the service was absolutely horrible. A glass of water and chips and salsa were brought, then we waited another 10 minutes for someone to take our order. We ordered drinks and two different enchilada plates. They weren’t busy (9:30 on a Saturday night), but once our food was dropped off (not by the waiter who took our order), no one came by to ask if we needed anything else or to refill anything. We were out of water, salsa, and had empty drinks. We had to stop a passing waitress to have her get our waiter to even bring the check. He gave an eye roll when she asked him. We stay downtown once a month, but won’t be dining...
