I am a leaving this review with the hopes they take the input seriously so that they can stay open for a long time. As I do think that there is a need for a good sandwich/sub place in this area.
My boss and I were very excited to try this new restaurant by the office.
Service was great. The lady that took our order was very friendly and nice.
Food was disappointing. I ordered a 6" Italian sub with the "made to order" (as advertised) fries. My boss ordered a hot pastrami sub and french fries. Both of our observations/experiences were the same: The bread was doughy. They seemed underbaked or frozen and defrosted in the microwave (which I'm sure is not the case). It's got a weird texture when you take a bite into it. The french fries, were cold/room temp. Again, they seemed undercooked. The thing is, they were advertised as "made to order" but how could they be made to order when they're not hot at all. They were, again, cold/room temperature. No flavor. No crispiness to them. They are $3.50 for an order. The fries are not worth price. I should've gotten chips instead. My order came to $12.50 (+/-), and is not worth that price, at all. The pastrami, my boss said, were tasty. But the sandwich, as whole, she was not impressed either.
I did check the reviews before going, but I figured to try it for myself. The latest reviews are consistent to my and my boss' experience, as well. Underwhelming and disappointing.
I really do want Jon Smith Subs to succeed. I believe that if they take the reviews to heart and improve, atleast, the subs and french fries, they might have a chance.
For now, we'll wait until the kinks are figured out, and try again next year. I...

Since I believe the request is genuine, I absolutely will give them another chance! I'm updating the stars to a 3 for the sincerity and humbleness and that I still haven't tasted their food but looking forward to updating to a 5. I will keep you posted.
Soooo, I love a good sub. Always have. So while driving downtown a couple of times, this place kinda stood out to me. Today while looking for the best tuna subs in my area, this place came up in the suggested list. I was about to place an UberEats order for it to be delivered to me but I thought about the fact that I had never tried it. And let's be clear, all tuna sandwiches are not made equally. So I drove there, about a 6 minutes drive at the time. Parked, went in. I asked if it would be ok if I could sample their tuna. The young lady informed me that they were out of tuna at the moment. I asked if they were going to make some more up. It was around 1:45 p.m. She said that they were out of mayo at the moment. I said thank you. As time progressed I started to think to myself what sandwich shop runs out of mayo? If you have to make a store run to get some, that's what you do. It's a really SIMPLE fix; one that goes without saying. I can't tell you how the food tastes but the service and atmosphere didn't meet the mark at all for me. It wasn't that the young lady was unprofessional or anything, it just didn't sit right. And still doesn't sit right. That's important when I'm patronizing...
Read moreNew Review After my initial experience, the owner went out of his way to reach out and try to make things right. He kept in contact with me through email and text for a couple of months, showing genuine concern about my experience. I'm back now, and I just had the Cajun chicken sandwich – and let me tell you, it's amazing! Super cheesy, flavorful, hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. Really appreciate the extra effort and the fantastic meal Thank you Ricky!
old review * This was the driest, most flavorless sandwich I've ever had. Even though I asked for extra mayonnaise and all the toppings that came on it, it was just not good. The bread had a weird texture; I don't know if they needed to toast it or something. I ordered three sandwiches, one with fries and a drink, totaling over $50. The fries were so salty that the salt burned the roof of my mouth and my tongue. If the food is good, I will say it is good, but it wasn't, and I was mad that I spent that much money, went out of my way to get the sandwiches, and had to wait forever for them to make them. The lady at the counter was very accommodating and went above and beyond with her customer service, but I definitely will not be back. The sandwiches look so good online; that's where I came from—an Instagram suggestion ad. Good luck with your experience.
I got the Hamburger, the crispy chicken, and the Italian—all of them the large sandwiches—to split with middle schoolers who said the same thing that I said about the sandwiches: that they did...
