While I do not support all the calls for abolishing Police Agencies, I do feel that there is a line that has been crossed a while back that has made those agencies enforce the law to the letter, instead of using common sense. I remember in the 80s my Grandfather being driven home by the police for driving while intoxicated a few blocks from his house, they could of arrested him; but since he was close to the house that just drove him the rest of the way, no arrest, no charges... Today the TABC and almost all police agencies donât look at things in a rational manner and try to help the community. They look at it the terms of that is the law, and so it has to be enforced even though common sense makes it plain to anyone that the community is not affected or outraged by this behavior and thus those standards should be brought in to consideration with every citation, and even in every arrest.
So I will have to come see you guys when I come back to Fredericksburg, and keep fighting the good fight. Remember Judges are elected and the multiple citations for the same infraction always makes the issuing agency look worse in front of a judge. The judge will most likely apply community standards and throw out all fines,...
Read moreWe were in town for my Bachelorette Party & stopped by for coffee on Friday. The young man who attended to us was helpful, friendly & quick. The coffee was great (I visit Starbucks daily if not several times a day) to say I love coffee is an understatement. On Saturday, after a day of wine tasting and fun, we decided to stop by for coffee once more. Very different & disappointing experience. The bartender had an attitude & her demeanor was rude. She seemed annoyed that we were there for coffee or at least thatâs what her eye rolling indicated to me and apparently to the patrons sitting at the other end of the bar who made no effort to hide their amusement or lower their voices when commenting to each other about her eye rolling at us. Additionally, this bartender proceeded to question some of our drink choices and as a result failed to add cream to one of the coffees. In my opinion if any of the bartenders are not in favor of having to make coffee, then perhaps this place should not advertise bar & coffee on their sign. This will eliminate any inconvenience or frustration for bartenders who donât feel like making coffee & avoid any patrons...
Read moreI was in town with a group of 6 ladies for a bachelorette party. We called a few hrs ahead of time and were told they had "ample seating" we called back and explained that it was a big party to double check and they said they have enough seating for large parties. We get there and are told we can sit outside or at the bar due to ever table being taken. The outdoor seating had no table so we opted for the bar. We were given menus but waiting for very long time before being served. The bar tender barely ever looked up at us. We sat there awkwardly as locals came in and angrily stood around. The environment felt very unwelcoming to nonlocals. Finally the waitress came over and got our orders and a little while later we were served our drinks. It took what felt like forever to get our food. The mac and cheese was greesy and lukewarm. The lobster rolls were okay but I've definitely had better. I split both with one of the girls so I got half of the regular and half spicy. Spicy was definitely the better of the 2. My mom felt sick all night from the lobster rolls though. The waitress tried to be friendly but the bar tender was so rude! We left very...
