Was here yesterday around 6 PM: The staff seem to laugh in your face and have no interest in being welcoming to their customers. Although they're quick and straightforward, they'd CLEARLY prefer to either sit on their phone or to stand around and socialize with themselves. When they actually have to do their job, they make it obvious with their extremely bored, irritated and uninterested attitude. It might sound weird, but it feels like they're talking behind your back and betting on who will order what... Bottom line, the service just wasn't welcoming. Despite this, the food is absolutely delicious, except for the ultimate misfortune of this experience... the pork gave me food poisoning. Also, prices are kind of out of place considering you don't even get a drink with your meal. By far, the greatest part of this restaurant is the beautiful view you get! Although I must remind you, roughly the same view is visible from many other places around Anakeesta & you do not have to order here to walk in and enjoy the view. Obviously everyone's experience will be different. Not everyone will get food poisoning just from ordering here... It was likely that I was just unlucky. Same goes for the staff; Maybe it was just an off day for some, maybe it was just some unlucky pairings on their schedules. However, in my experience: if it weren't for the food poisoning and the careless staff, it would have been a good 4 stars because the atmosphere and taste of the food are superb but prices and lack of beverage inclusion have great potential in...
Read moreWrapping up our day at Anakeesta with a visit to the smokehouse was an absolute treat. The food exceeded our expectations in both flavor and quality. The meat was expertly smoked, falling right off the bone with that perfect smokiness that you crave in good barbecue. The mac and cheese was exceptionally creamy, striking just the right balance of cheese and comfort. The beans were packed with flavor, complementing the meal perfectly, and the cornbread was so authentically homemade, it felt like a warm hug on a plate.
Dining outside added another layer to the experience, offering us a panoramic 360-degree view of Gatlinburg's charming landscape, the serene countryside, and the majestic mountains that frame the view. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the transformation of the skyline was magical. The city lights began to twinkle, casting a whole new vibe over the scene, turning the evening ambiance into something truly spectacular. It was more than just a meal; it was a memorable experience that blended great food with...
Read moreChicken sandwich was incredibly dry with 0 condiments. Just bread and dry chicken bits (mostly bread) the brisket platter was below average. Meat tasted ok but was just sitting in some juice for however long and didn’t look appetizing at all. Bbq sauces were pretty good. Sides were hit or miss. The beans tasted basically like bushes canned baked beans. The Mac and cheese was just average. The sweet potato casserole was my favorite thing on the menu. Tasted pretty good. I would order that again. The rest I would pass on. Cornbread was pretty dry and the peps had this pretty nasty dirty looking plastic straw that they give you. It doesn’t taste right with that straw. But it could be mental because it looks gross. Staff was fine but seemed annoyed or bored at their jobs and weren’t cheery or friendly. The view from the tables though was really awesome...
