Definitely a mixed experience. First time here, planned on grabbed pizza before a local event. After being notified that there was a 20 minute wait time (6 pm) for 2 people, I proposed if I could use my coupon for take out, seeing that they were very backed up and communicated that our event was at 7. Host was not accommodating. We decided to wait. During our 30+ minute wait, we watched the host randomly make up wait times for others who came in for both dine in and carry out. Told someone who called their order in that the ticket isn’t even printed until close to pick up time. Many people waiting for pickup orders. However, as the bar is open, people can go there, drink and order food ASAP. Very clear that there is a prioritization issue here and they have preference to people looking to socialize not just dine. We also noted that they allow tables to remain empty ‘reserved’ for at least half an hour unoccupied... Finally getting seated, the table was not cleaned beforehand, but right on top of us.
Waitress however was a great server and really understanding of our time constraints and worked with a quicker pace. Pizza took almost twice as long to come out of the kitchen than the host had said it would take (15 mins vs 7 to 10). Unfortunately we were now running late. Plan for 50% extra time here.
Pizzas were exceptional in flavor combinations. We tried the roasted mushroom and the antipasto pizzas. Excellent crust (one of best in area), good fresh toppings and well balanced. Sauce was a bit bland on both. And size was definitely larger than others in Greenville, but don’t expect a NY sized large.
Even with the BOGO coupon, two pies cost nearly $30, very pricy. I don’t understand why pizza is priced as an expensive dinner item in Greenville, but this is not fair pricing. Straight priced, be prepared to spend $50+ overall.
Pizza was certainly good but the restaurant is struggling with their management (especially honesty during peak hours and how the kitchen is run).
Will be back to try the rest of their selection and are hopeful that the service as a whole improves with more fairness built into their pricing. There are enough pizza restaurants in the area that we can...
Read moreIt's unfortunate. This next time we tried Sidewall is now our last. As in my previous review, the salads were really good and the spinach dip with crustini bread was excellent, the pizza was fair. They must have changed something over the past few years, because it always was one of my favorites. The bottom of the crust was soggy. The mini meatballs were dry and a bit tasteless. And the pizza was sprinkled with way too much herbs. Service was very slow, even though we were only one of a couple of tables. I was hoping things were going to improve, but they didn't. Looks like we won't be coming back here. ☹️ We hadn't been back since before the pandemic started, but decided to go today for a late lunch. Was pretty disappointed in the service. The female server seemed very disinterested in he job. She was very focused on talking to her friend at the bar.
The spinach artichoke dip was delicious. The Smoky and wedge salads were also amazing. But the pizza was a major disappointment. Crust was good, but the toppings were way too much. We got sausage, mushrooms and peppadew peppers. You couldn't see the cheese or sauce because there were an over abundance of mushrooms. Even the server commented after the fact. Plus, they seemed very "herb-ie." Like someone dumped way touch in as they cooked them.
Dropped to 4 stars from the original 5. -------original review------
Delicious pizza, great salads and a nice selection of beer. Very casual place. Pizza isn't your traditional NY Style. You can pretty much get anything you want on it. I highly recommend...
Read moreI have to write a review about my experience here at the Cleveland Street location. It was an awful experience. It started out with the wine that had actual leaves in it and when I asked what it was, they said it was from the end of the wine bottle like okay that’s not true. I have never seen that come out of wine. It was a dirty glass. Then we proceeded to wait at least 40 minutes for our pizza when the people that sat down 15 minutes before us got theirs almost immediately. When the pizza came out, both of ours were burnt and when I mentioned it was, the cook came out to say it was not burnt but the edges were literally black as anyone could tell and tasted burnt. I only ate some of it because it was 9 at night and I was starving waiting so long. It was burnt because it was sitting in the oven for 30+ minutes. They did try to correct it by giving me another wine and pizza, but to be told you are wrong and shift the blame from themselves is definitely bad customer service. I was being nice the entire time to them while receiving bad looks and bad vibes. I wouldn’t have complained if the pizza was not literally $25. It’s not cheap and I didn’t deserve to settle for a burnt pizza that was not enjoyable. Not only that, but no one even said sorry and I was so uncomfortable with the kitchen coming out to talk to me instead of my server that seemed to not care at all. They need new people working there , but regardless never visiting that...
