Disgusting Experience at Biscuit Head in Greenville, SC (1/18/25)
I cannot overstate how disgusted I am with the experience my family and I had at Biscuit Head. No restaurant should be allowed to operate in such a substandard manner.
It started with the parking—or lack thereof. The garage was full, leaving us to park at a neighboring business (thankfully closed), but I cannot imagine where patrons would park on a weekday. With freezing temperatures and strong winds, we waited in a line outside to place our orders because the restaurant was running a single register. This was despite the dining area having plenty of empty tables.
Despite these initial frustrations, my wife, daughter, and I were still hopeful. We were all craving the dishes hyped up on the menu. Unfortunately, every aspect of the meal was a disappointment.
My daughter and I ordered the biscuit and gravy plate. My eggs, ordered over-medium, were runny, and the bologna, requested well-done, was cold and undercooked in the center. The gravy arrived with a congealed top, clearly left sitting out and not reheated properly. The biscuits themselves—what the restaurant is supposedly known for—were inedible, with the tops so hard you couldn’t bite into them. My wife ordered the French toast, touted as a must-try. It was dense and dry, with a texture resembling cornbread or a burnt biscuit. To make it worse, the powdered sugar was carelessly applied to only half the dish. My light red colored Bloody Mary, priced at $12.99, was essentially a watered-down mix of tomato juice and water, overly garnished to disguise the lack of flavor or effort. When we tried to address these issues during our meal, we found no one in sight except for an overworked busboy, a rude cashier, and an even ruder barista. There was no manager or staff member willing to assist us, making the experience even more frustrating.
The overall setup added to the chaos. The soda station and butter/jam bar were crammed into a narrow corridor, making it difficult for guests to navigate. Worse, the butter/jam bar was filthy and in desperate need of cleaning.
I was aware that this wouldn’t be a cheap breakfast, but I expected the quality to justify the price. What we ordered and the prices the menu reflected should have cost about $68. However, the cashier impatiently rattled off a total of just over $83, which I paid without questioning further to avoid holding up the line. Imagine my shock when I later checked my bank statement and found charges of $97.33 plus $12.99—completely unjustifiable.
To make matters worse, when I called the next day to speak to a manager, I was brushed off. The person who answered took my name telling me the manager was busy and hung up on me. I assumed they’d call me back using the caller ID, but it’s been days, and I’ve heard nothing.
It’s clear that owners Carolyn and Jason Roy need to revamp the policies and operations of this restaurant. Overcharging customers, tacking on additional charges after running a card, are unacceptable practices. This is not how a restaurant should treat its customers.
As we left, the overflowing trash cans by the front exit, with trays of trash piled on top, perfectly symbolized the state of this restaurant.
I am attaching pictures of our food and the overall experience in hopes that no one else has to endure what we did.
In summary, avoid Biscuit Head if you care about quality food, friendly service, cleanliness, or even being charged fairly. This was an unacceptable experience on...

During my visit, I indulged in two standout dishes: the Pulled Pork Biscuit and the Nutella Elvis Biscuit. The Pulled Pork Biscuit is a harmonious blend of savory and sweet. Imagine a colossal, fluffy biscuit—affectionately termed a “cathead” biscuit due to its generous size—cradling tender pulled pork that’s been slow-cooked to perfection. The addition of jalapeño pimento cheese introduces a subtle kick, balanced beautifully by crispy bacon and a perfectly poached egg. A drizzle of maple syrup ties all the components together, creating a symphony of flavors that dance on your palate.
The Nutella Elvis Biscuit is a delightful tribute to the King himself. This decadent creation features their signature biscuit generously smothered in warm Nutella, topped with fresh banana slices and crispy bacon. The combination of rich chocolate-hazelnut spread, sweet bananas, and salty bacon is pure indulgence, making it a must-try for anyone with a sweet tooth.
To complement these dishes, I couldn’t resist trying the Bacon of the Day. Each day, Biscuit Head offers a unique bacon flavor, adding an element of surprise to your meal. The bacon was cooked to crispy perfection, offering a delightful balance of smoky and savory notes that paired wonderfully with both biscuits.
Beyond the exceptional food, the atmosphere at Biscuit Head is warm and inviting, with a friendly staff that makes you feel right at home. Whether you’re a local or just passing through Greenville, SC, a visit to Biscuit Head is an experience that shouldn’t be missed. It’s a place where traditional Southern breakfast staples are elevated with creative twists, ensuring every guest leaves with a satisfied appetite...
Read moreBreakfast this morning was at Biscuit Head with my sister. My barber is next door to Biscuit Head at Mix Studios. My sister had dined at Biscuit Head some years ago when it was newly open. She told me then that she didn’t like it, but I just had to try it for myself. It was a little after 10 when we walked in. It being my first time there, and my sister didn’t remember we didn’t know if we were supposed to seat ourselves or not. No one told us anything there, was nothing telling you what to do. I finally got the attention of a waitress, and she told us what to do. It was kind of dark and dreary to me in the restaurant it wasn’t very crowded, but they did start coming in after we placed our order. After looking at the menu I decided on the Filthy Animal and a side order of pimento cheese grits. The Filthy Animal is a biscuit with fried chicken, scrambled eggs, bacon, pimento cheese and gravy, sounds delicious right??? NOT!! The biscuit was ok the chicken wasn’t even edible, it looked like a boneless chicken thigh( I don’t eat dark meat) whatever it was it wasn’t a chicken breast and it was over cooked and tough, the bacon was hard not crispy, the scrambled egg was hiding under all of that cold gravy. Nothing in the Filthy Animal was even warm. The grits with pimento cheese was ok, my sister ordered The Classic Sandwich, it comes with one side she ordered the fried green tomatoes. We both got lemonade as our drink. The Classic is a biscuit with an egg and cheddar cheese the fried green tomatoes were cold and tasteless. I wasted $26.24 on food that I didn’t eat. As I was leaving I noticed food on several of the tables that had not been eaten. I tried it, didn’t like it, and wasted money on a mess, it didn’t even look appetizing on the plate. The lemonade was the bomb(we only got 1 glass) it was delicious, it was the only thing that I had that deserved 5 stars. I will not be recommending Biscuit...
