I had been looking forward to trying out Sweetberry Bowls, and stopped in for the first time today: I definitely recommend that they get a door notification chime, as the employees had no idea that a customer had entered the building! I waited approximately 3 - 5 minutes before the two employees came down the hall to greet me and take my order. Although they were kind, they did not seem alarmed to see me, nor did they ask how long I'd been waiting. I did notice the cameras, so I suppose they saw me, but probably were not aware of how long I'd been there. The atmosphere is cheery with a fun color scheme, and the local art on the walls in the hallway is a nice touch! I ordered a Baja Wrap (no chicken, sub chick peas) and a Purple Jungle Smoothie; both were tasty, although I wasn't a fan of the vinaigrette in the wrap. I did speak with the manager regarding both the lack of door notification sound as well as the vinaigrette in the wrap: She was gracious and agreed that the lack of door notification is an issue, advised she will speak with the owner, and also recommended different sauces for the wrap for next time. Overall experience was good and I look forward...
Read moreThis was actually my second attempt to dine at this location. I had come in the day prior and requested the Poke bowl to find out its a new item yet to launch, although it is prominently displayed on the menu board and the website. The location was very clean and nicely kept. I felt terrible for the lone cashier/chef/server manning the shop during lunch time. I did not have a long wait, regardless of this fact (in part because i asked for my order to go). I ordered a Green Crush. The item didn't reflect the picture on the menus or website exactly, but pretty close. I was very disappointed however that the bowl was 75% Granola - while waiting to order another customer also had the same complaint, at the time I had thought they were just being choosy, now i know better. I suppose if I return i will ask for little or no granola.
Final thought - the company should display the nutrition facts somewhere in the store or on menus/flyers/brochures. This place is clearly geared to the health conscious eater, and I for one want to know more...
Read moreI was excited to hear that Sweetberry brought on poke bowls because they're one of my favorite things, but I was disappointed in the overall quality and price.
For starters, a 2 scoop bowl cost me $16 before tip? I thought that price was outrageous, considering I've had better quality for cheaper in other poke bowl restaurants and in other states. The "sushi" rice was extremely dry and their "ponzu" sauce was actually soy sauce, which isn't a preference of mine. It threw me off entirely. And the to-go bowls provided simply aren't big enough for easy mixing since my sauce was separate (that I didn't ask for).
I also had gone in on a slow time, aka just myself in the restaurant, and it took about 20 minutes for two girls to make my bowl. I'm not sure if they were working on online orders, but I was disappointed in how long it took.
Overall, it tasted alright but it's not worth the price. I might try the actual sweet bowls next time for a 2nd chance. Go get...
