I've eaten here a few times in the last couple of months and was fully satisfied and impressed on both occasions! Each time was with a group (first time a group of 12, the second time a group of 6) and we were pleased with our visit. We were promptly seated on both occasions. The food was GREAT! Sushi was excellent, and the selection is very good as well, whether you are a sushi lover or just in the mood to be a little adventurous. Cocktails were very good and fairly priced. Appetizers were all very good (Wings, Edamame, Spring Rolls). Everyone enjoyed their food very much and the portions were large. Our servers on each visit were pretty awesome. Very polite and helpful, they really added to the value of the experience because the staff were so friendly. Both times I got the Shrimp & Lobster fried rice, and was completely happy with my meal. The only setback may be the other side of a positive aspect; it is somewhat small (maybe "narrow") inside, which adds to the intimacy and quaintness but may not be the perfect setting depending on how large your party is and how you prefer to be seated in that party. I think the place is great and its a definite "go-to" if you are downtown and looking for something off the beaten path...
Read moreOverall very mediocre food for the price. I ordered the "famous" wok with beef and fried rice and a fried egg, with the "spicy Mongolian" sauce. The egg was an extra charge, was way overcooked, and slapped on top of the "fried rice," which was literally white rice with some soy sauce mixed in. The sauce on the beef tasted like soy sauce with no nuance or spice, very disappointing. Chinggis Khan is crying in his grave. I asked the waitress what was up with the sauce and she just shrugged and asked if I wanted chili paste. Some half-cooked onions rounded out the plate. All for the low, low price of $18!
Also ordered the soup dumplings. There were only 3, were the tiniest I've ever seen, and we didn't get soup dumpling spoons. Had I not walked up to the counter I wouldn't have even gotten spoons until 20 minutes later when they were cold, due to slow service. $8 for that? Nah.
Lastly, got some sushi that was decent enough, which is what the second star is for. Otherwise, the food was very mediocre, service was slow and disinterested (server disappeared with my check/card for 10 minutes?), and overpriced for the quality. Do yourself a favor and go to Panda Express if you want same quality for...
Read moreWent for a graduation celebration on Memorial Day and while it was busy, they had no problem seating us. There were six of us, and our waitress handled us very well. She wouldn't visit the table very often, but she was taking care of lots of other tables so nothing against her. My meal came with an egg roll, and it was hot and definitely fresh. It came to the table quickly, and was a good start to the meal. We also got the Szechuan dumplings as an appetizer, and they were okay. The sauce was bland and not as spicy as advertised, but the filling was good. For my main course I got the 'Famous Wok Dinner' with beef and General Tso sauce. It looks small when it first arrives, but it fills you up. I was expecting more, but all it had was beef and the sauce, and 3 cold broccoli pieces on the plate. The General Tso sauce was also advertised as spicy and it was not. The fried rice that came with it was bland and felt like it had been microwaved, and it had next to no eggs in it. The decor in the restaurant is pretty, but when you first walk in it is very crowded, but once seated, you can relax. It wasn't a terrible dinner but it is unlikely that I...
