SHORT VERSION: Decent, fresh food. Reasonably priced, but portions aren't large.

LONGER VERSION: Occasionally my quest for a good breakfast takes me to a chain restaurant, and today that was Panera in Hanford, CA. Part of a strip mall in a block of strip malls, if you've ever been in a Panera, you've seen this one. Only the slightly stained wallpaper differentiates it from the rest. It is clean, though, which sets it apart from many chains on this block. There are no flies buzzing around in here while the McDonald's next door is always thick with them - a sign of the care they take here!

I ordered the pieces of my breakfast using their mobile app after I seated myself. I like that. I could have ordered at the counter but it's more comfortable selecting items from the simpler menu format of the app. I can also double check what goes into each thing I order, which is good, as I have some unusual food allergies and preferences.

I chose the Bacon Double Take, a breakfast sandwich with scrambled egg, two kinds of cheese, and the eponymous bacon strips. It arrived inside a somewhat squashed 3x4" focaccia slab and my initial impression was that it didn't look like the photo. I rechecked my order to be sure this what what I'd chosen! Fortunately, it was tasty. And it was reasonably filling, even though it seemed to be an experiment in minimalism. The egg was a folded tissue - perhaps "delicate" would be a more flattering description? - of well-seasoned egg. If it was one egg, it was a small one. The bacon was equally see-through (sadly normal for most places these days), but also done properly with a little crisp abd no stringyness. The American cheese was the strongest flavor. But as a light breakfast sandwich, it was okay. I may not seek it out, but if I was breakfasting here in the future, I would consider ordering it again.

I also ordered Steel-cut Oatmeal with Strawberries and Pecans. I enjoy thick, past oats and got a healthy-sized bowl of it. There were plenty of pecan pieces and a good helping of cinnamon sugar topping. I enjoyed this. I do have a question about the use of the word "strawberries" as it refers to the five slivers of berry in my bowl. Idly reassembling them while I ate my sandwich, I discovered they equalled about two-thirds of a medium-sized berry. To my mind, that doesn't deserve the plural, but I suppose calling it "Steel Cut Oatmeal With Slightly More Than Half a Strawberry and Pecans" is too wordy. I was disappointed by that, but still enjoyed the oatmeal enough that I'm sure I'll order it again.

This is a Pepsi restaurant (I'm a Coke products guy, for the most part), so I got iced tea instead. The unsweetened iced tea had a surprising berry background flavor. I can't say if that was intentional or if it was the result of changing which dispensers hold the tea and which hold the selection of fruity lemonades they have here. Hopefully it was intentional. It was, like the rest of my meal, not bad.

I got all that for about $20, which isn't bad. The food definitely seemed lighter fare than my usual pancakes and a whole lot healthier (probably) than the donuts I'd considered before I decided to eat here. Overall, I'm happy with what I got for the price I paid, even if I found it to be somewhat less than I had hoped for.

THE BOTTOM LINE: It was definitely a step up from fast food, but just as quick and not much more expensive. It's solidly okay and I have no trouble giving them three and a half stars (which rounds to four, on the Google...

On march 21, my wife attempted to order some sandwiches on her co-worker's birthday over the phone using our joint credit card account. The charge was $44.59. However, she was told that the credit card would not go through despite three tries. My wife ended up drive to the store and purchased the food with cash. As I was going over the credit card transaction history few daysl ater, I noticed the Penera Bread charge for $44.59 and asked my wife about it. She explained what happened. We went to the store and spoke with the manager who remembered the whole transaction that day. She agreed that the charge should not have occurred and gave us the head office phone number to resolve the issue. I took the manager's advice and called the number she gave us twice. All I got was run around. Today is April 8th and still without any resolution or any explanation what so ever from the PeneraBread head office. I wonder how many people might overlook this kind of situation and end up Penera Bread enriching themselves unjustly. I advise anyone ordering food at the Penera with a credit card and canceled the order forwhatever reason, double check to make sure they don't charge for the food anyway. I end up resolving the issue by calling the credit card company today and filing a dispute. What a waist of time. I am left with bad taste of Penera Bread not only because of inappropriate charge but also their...

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Panera Bread and I have to say, it was a great experience. The first thing that caught my attention was their cozy atmosphere, which made for a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, making me feel welcomed from the moment I walked in.

I decided to try their latte chocolate and it was absolutely delicious. The latte was perfectly frothed, and the chocolate was rich and creamy. It was the perfect pick-me-up that I needed to have at mid day.

I also ordered one of their chicken sandwiches, and I was impressed by the quality and freshness of the ingredients. The bread was soft and flavorful, and the sandwich was made to perfection.

The restaurant itself was clean and well-maintained, with plenty of seating available. The ambiance was peaceful and inviting, with soft background music playing that added to the overall atmosphere.

Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Panera Bread and I highly recommend it. The latte chocolate alone is worth a visit, and the food and service were both top-notch. If you're looking for a cozy and delicious spot to enjoy a meal, then Panera Bread is the place to go.

Just grab a seat as soon as you can. They...

For the most part The Panera businesses are kept clean and tidy and are a nice place for a family to go eat after a ballet or soccer practice but this Panera was anything but nice. The person who took our order was rude and acted irritated to be there or even serve anyone and the dining area was dirty as there was trash on the ground and the tables were stained and sticky. Further more half of the fountain drinks were out and there was a sign written in marker to get ice out or a plastic bucket. Definitely not a family friendly environment and not a nice place to go

Horrible Horrible Horrible! I placed an order online as usual. Had my husband pick it up. The man accused my husband of stealing another woman's order and went through our bags!!! To top it off my broccoli cheddar soup was watered down and cold!! It's flipping disgusting! I never got my bread to go with soup. No utensils nor napkins and i requested all 7 of our sandwiches get toasted and mine did not. My daughters got so toasted it's rock hard!! What happened to your food, and customer service??????
