PiNK PiG Southern BBQ — Restaurant in Helen

This was definitely a good spot in Helen GA. I ordered the half chicken with Texas toast. Collards, and Mac n cheese. The Mac n cheese was almost perfect (4.8/5) The breadcrumbs did not add anything to them. It just gave it an odd texture. (Fix that) The collards were good (3.5/5) they need a bit more flavoring. I recommend cooking them with turkey neck. It will bring out lots of flavor that it was missing. Texas toast. Well it was toast. (5/5) Smoked chicken was very good (4.5/5) You can definitely taste flavor and the skin was delicious. Most of the meat stayed nice and juicy. However the breast portion was VERY dry. I recommend basting the breast portion once or twice extra with some butter when smoking it so that it doesn’t come out nearly as dry. Now for the BBQ Sauces Mustard based: tasted like Dijon mustard from the bottle. I’m from South Carolina and was hoping for a good Carolina gold bbq sauce. Sweet: best one. No notes. Keep it as is. Hot: no notes. Keep as is. Ranch bbq sauce: throw that out. Tasted like mayo with bad bbq sauce. Don’t serve nasty sauces like that. This was the nastiest sauce. Inedible.

Overall, decent food. The service was mediocre. (Definitely can improve) I would come back...

Holy Smokes?!?!?! First off, let me say that I have a stand up smokehouse with external firebox in my back yard, so I don't like being disappointed with mediocre smoked meats!! Now....... SO Glad I stumbled across this place!! Staying in Holiday Inn Express and looked for restaurants in walking distance!!! The brisket is fall apart tender with flavor that makes the mouth water more!! The smoked wings are cooked to perfection and flavor is crazy good!!! Pork ribs are delicious, just a bit small for $3 each rib. Fried Green Beans are definitely a must have!!! Mac-n-cheese was off the chain 🤤 Coleslaw was great too!! My wife had a garden salad topped with turkey.......let me just say "Someone back there has a meat thermometer and knows how to use it, moist, tender and delicious!! They have about half a dozen different sauces to choose from and my favorite was Tangy and Hot mixed then a bit of the Sweet for a chaser!!! 12 out of 10 recommend this place!! 👌 Prices are reasonable....we paid $62 for the two of us, no drinks, and left with a satisfactorily heavy bag to-go!!! Plenty enough for another entire meal, minus coleslaw.....I may go back for more...

I will have to start by saying the service & food match the reviews!! The young lady at the counter told us about the specials. My husband ordered the prime rib sandwich with one side & a drink. I ordered a half rack of ribs with two sides & a drink. While my husband went with the fries I had the baked beans & coleslaw!! ALL of our food was on point with every aspect & especially taste! They have several choices of bbq sauces. I had mustard base and he had au jux & tangy. We liked each of those as well! This establishment is very clean & well kept inside & out! The bathrooms are very clean & spacious although there are no baby changing stations there is plenty of room. The staff here are friendly & attentive!! I must say we will definitely be back & if you haven’t ever been here & you like bbq you must give them a try!! They also an have outside seating area. We were full as a tick & happy with our experience!!! Shout out to Reece for her exceptional...
