Helen Cellar Package Store — Local services in Helen

Visited Christmas Eve 2017 at around 5pm. I had some bottles that were kept on a room temp shelf. I brought them to the counter and asked the lady working if she could put them in the fridge for me, I would return in about two hours. Who wants a warm beer? She rolled her eyes and said okay. Note; nobody else was in the store when I left.

I return as promised and find my bottles still sitting next to her on the counter. when I asked if they were chilled, she said "I didn't have an opportunity to do it, I was too busy."

I proceed to purchase them anyways with a bit of a line behind me, a bottle comes up $7 higher than the tag it was on the shelf with, I tell her that's the incorrect price, she calls me a liar and goes to the back to double check.

At this point I just left the store.

The young lady working had a very poor attitude and unfriendly demeanor. Other customers in the line commented on this as well, so it's not an isolated thing or just my perception.

Poor service, high prices. Will never return. Go across the street...

This is Helen's best liquor store hands down. Coming into town it's the first liquor store you will come to on the right hand side. The owner "Justin" knows more about beer, wine, liquors and bourbons than anyone In Northeast Georgia. Speaking of bourbons they stock all of the top bourbons sold today and if they don't have something you're looking for just ask for Justin and he will get it in for you. My wife and I were in Helen back in January and we saw the name of the place and we had to stop. "Helen Cellar" is an outstandingly clever name and that, if nothing else, drew us into the store.

Once inside, you'll find a wide variety of alcohol and related products along with some of the friendliest staff you'll ever meet. Prices are reasonable (something that can't always be said about other places of any type in Helen) and we found everything we wanted plus some.
