Mondays Pub — Restaurant in Helen

I’m a local and this used to be my regular go to bar for drinks and food with my family and friends. I was there the other night having dinner with my parents and ended up getting a non itemized bill for $98 dollars. I paid with my card and did not fill out or sign any receipt. I paid with my bank card and left $20 dollars in cash as tip. 24 hours later after the initial amount posted on my bank card the total was updated to include an extra $100 bringing my total to $198. Remaining hopeful this was an honest mistake I go to the restaurant as soon as it opened in the morning to hopefully have it resolved in a timely and professional manner. When I get there I’m told that they don’t have access to receipts and I would have to wait for the owner who will not be coming in that day. After leaving my number and attempting to get directly in touch with the owners to hopefully fix the discrepancy with no luck. I went to my bank to file a dispute to hopefully halt the transfer and recover the $100 back. After being informed that a police report is necessary for a dispute I went to the police station and filed a report. After I filed the report and the officer informed me he made contact I got calls from the owner giving excuses as to why the money was taken from my bank such as “the bank is holding the money in case there was a tip” and saying that I “must’ve rounded up” ending with saying he will make it right if I come back. I thank him for calling and attempting to make things right and I put the dispute on hold. That same night I received a text saying, “This is Lisa Monday here is your receipt! You can come get your money but you need to not acuse me of something I didn't do” attached was a picture of an unsigned receipt with the tip and total line filled in. I immediately notice it’s not my handwriting and in disbelief showed my mother the receipt and she immediately noticed it wasn’t in my handwriting as well. I am not accusing any particular person of anything, but I am saying something is not right here. As I stated before I did not fill or sign any bill or receipt from that night. I paid with my card and left $20 in cash on the table. When I went back to recover the money I was handed a printed receipt on a piece of paper with a quickly and aggressively written note on it saying “Here is your receipt! What does it look like TO YOU with multiple lines underneath the capitalized “TO YOU” part. Happy I recovered my money back I left thinking to myself what it did in fact look like to me. What I saw was an unsigned receipt filled out by someone else. This business has unfortunately proven to be untrustworthy and showed poor customer service. I grew up in Helen and was excited to return to a loved place I've visited many times in my life. After we sat at the bar, the bar tender (woman) literally was just chatting with her friends for awhile finally I said "excuse me can we get some drinks" She was soooo rude but made them! Like, this is your job. Sorry you don't like it. Then the next bartender was a man who told me He wasn't allowed to serve me because someone watching a camera somewhere said so. Idk who I guess an owner? I'd like to point out by this time I'd had one vodka cran and a lemon drop. My mother had the same thing. NO ONE WAS EVEN CLOSE TO BEING DRUNK, we had just come from dinner with a bunch of kids. I couldn't believe my ears, I had never been treated that way in my life. I also held Mondays very close to my heart from memories in the past but I will never be returning! I left there and immediately went to Margaritaville deck and was politely served drinks and had a wonderful time dancing with my mom and other ladies on the dance floor. The bartenders there were kind, and fast! I also didn't see a single bartender at Mondays ID anyone, NOT ONCE! Sadly to say Mondays isn't the same Mondays it used to be. Don't waste...

What can I say, if you are looking for the top local Hangout in Helen Georgia then this is the place. In a tourist town if you can find where all the locals hang out that's usually where you'd want to go as a tourist also. Mondays pub has everything you are looking for in one stop. They have the best food, best drinks and a large cigar and bourbon selection. I will tell you this if you can't find your bourbon here they probably don't make it, The owner "Donnie" goes above and beyond to procure all of the top BOURBONS/CIGARS that are available today, along with an ever-expanding food/beer/liquor menu. They have bands on the weekends a karaoke night and pool tournaments. You can play Keno while you drink and eat, also enjoying all of the sports on 10 plus TVs. I have been here several times and have never had bad food or service. When you go try the "WINGS" best in Helen!
