Are you down for a nice surprise? If you like alcohol (or just ice cream) and if you are around Hellen, you must try this place.

Located a little ways deep into the little blocks of a plaza and other establishment. Not super visible off the main street, but not hard to find either.

Plenty of parking around the place.

Up on a second level, easily accessible on foot or by ramp. You are welcomed by the cutest and nice few Cat ushers. That is how you know you are off a to a good start. IF you happen to be allergic, do not worry their extra senses allow them to understand you are capable of self service and they will leave you alone. Do not be intimidated.

The place offers indoor and some outdoor seating. As you walk in your will see the many delicious options displayed on the wall to your left, as well as other information right in front of you.

The staff is great. Very welcoming and will provide you with all the necessary information for you to make an informed decision. Trust me, anything you get will be a pleasant surprise.

Most of the options will contain some kind of delicious ice cream (some virgin and some alcoholic).

The taste is not overwhelming (on both, the alcohol and sweetness level). You will enjoy yourselves. I can see my self coming back some time (since I live across the country) and trying other flavors with those awesome value added color changing spoons. These spoons will change color based on the temperature. They have a few color, but it is a nice touch. Pulling that spoon off the ice cream and finding out what color you got is fun.

If you are looking for great quality, homemade ice cream, this is it!! We have been coming to Helen for over 3 years now and i cant believe i didnt find this location sooner. I can't stand the other ice cream options in town that come in the premade tubs, yuck! At Das Ice Cream, there are so many unique flavors to choose from, but they are rotated seasonally and with availability so keep that in mind when visiting. I absolutely LOVE the ice cream flight option because it is so hard for me to choose only one flavor to eat! My fiancé and I both got a flight so we could taste more options. My personal favorites were the peach flavor and praline, but they were all delicious! The hot lava was very unique. It is a spicy chocolate flavor that has a little heat after you swallow it...very interesting! I liked trying it in the small size but it was a little too spicy for me to get a whole cone! I recently visited this ice cream shop with my family, and while the ice cream itself was average, the customer service was extremely disappointing. The flavors were fine but nothing remarkable – just your standard fare you’d find anywhere else. However, what stood out most was how unwelcoming the staff were.

Midway through our visit, an employee rudely approached our table and asked us to leave, claiming our children were “too loud.” This was baffling, as the children were behaving perfectly appropriately for the lively, casual atmosphere of an ice cream shop. It felt completely uncalled for and left us feeling unfairly singled out.
