Slow and unenthusiastic service and just ok ice cream. They don’t have dark chocolate. Come on! Did you see any proper Gelato place in Italy, you know the birthplace of that kind of ice cream?

Milk chocolate was 90% melted. So that’s out of choices as well. So this place is new so this particular cooling problem will be fixed hopefully. But the fact you have 20 different sorbet which are not actually Gelato and a poor selection of Gelatos is a big problem. I don’t want 400 different selection. For that to matter, I would need to come there everyday and let’s face it that ain’t happening. So how about having some strong staple Gelato offerings?

I also don’t like waiting in the line for when the problem is not too much demand but just few slow workers. You may think it’s the same but no. Some places don’t have physical space. This place is not one of them. Since this location is new I’m giving the benefit of doubt hence not a worse rating. I’ll try this location again in couple of months and update the score for the better or worse.

But if you are Gelatario, and you’re selling twice the price and half the quality Gelato than Talenti (an expensive Gelato brand sold in supermarkets) then you’ve already lost the game in my opinion. I’d just buy the...

I have been visiting Hoboken area for a decade and I always had a fond memories until last night. I visited the place after dinner with my kids. Every small cup they were selling had minimum of two scoops.my kids wanted one scoop instead of two. Staff told me extra cup is free. So I requested the staff to divide the two scoop in to two cups. He said that's perfect solution. Then at the payment counter he charged me for 2 small cups instead of one. When I explained him that you just told me "extra cup is free" he said "I don't know. Pay for 2 small cups.". He became aggressive and started saying "I am not listening to you you just pay and go". My kids were sleepy and tired so I just paid and left. But along the way back - my little girl kept asking "Why was that person rude to me? Maybe he didn't like me? Am I a bad person?".....I just didn't know what to say. Never coming back...

The place was quite crowded when we passed by the first time so had to come back and try it out. First thing first, the staff is extremely nice and kind. They knew we were Muslims and were forthcoming with the flavors that had alcohol in them (which we really appreciated). They have 3 diff sizes to choose from and with the small size you get to pick 2 flavors. You also get to sample 2 flavors. We went complete 180 and got 2 different flavors from the ones we tried. I got cheesecake and milk chocolate which ended up making it too sweet (my fault clearly) and tasted more like an ice cream than a gelato.
