Julietta — Restaurant in Hoboken

Asked for a Caprese sandwich, they charged me for it and then they said they don’t have the sandwich. They don’t have ability to refund back to card. Then handed me $14 plus lot of coins back which, of course, are useless to me. They don’t even make sandwiches fresh…selling something made in the morning at 8 pm. Don’t care to see if they have something before charging customers for it and then handing over tons of coins back…absolutely ridiculous! In response to the owner’s response - I do value local businesses and try to buy local as much as I can, especially cafe. In this instance, I didn’t ask for cash. I asked for refund back to credit card but I was told it was not an option and instead I was offered a voucher or something. I don’t frequent Hoboken really so a cash voucher wouldn’t be very handy for me. I even offered to pay another $5.07 so I could be handed back $20 bill but even that...

I almost skipped this place based on the number of reviews compared to the other big-name spot nearby (cough cough—we won’t name names 😏). But wow, am I glad we gave it a try. We really need to do better about supporting local businesses because this ice cream is on another level! I had the tiramisu/Oreo combo👌🏽and my kids got straight-up Oreo—everyone was obsessed. The texture and flavor were so good, and you can taste the freshness and quality in every bite. Honestly...

Visited the establishment with a few friends. I'm not sure if the man who served us was the manager or not, but he was incredibly rude and gave us all dirty look... Looking us all up and down while serving us our gelato. Don't mean to pull out the race card, but we are all women of color, and to us his attitude seemed targeted. DISGUSTING behavior. The gelato was also disgusting at worst, sub-par at best. The girl working was sweet though. Never coming...
