We were craving some fusion food and got a hold of EbiNomi. We walked about 7 minutes from the Sheraton Waikiki and passed thru Dukes Lane to get to the store. We had a bit of trouble finding it, but someone was playing the piano so we followed the music and got to the restaurant. It is quite colourful, and the menu was laid out well. This is a take out restaurant, with some tables outside for you to use. But most people buy to go. Hawaii now charges $0.45 for each takeout bag so you may want to bring your own paper bags and reuse them. I think it is a great idea. Reducing trash is always a good thing. We walked back to the hotel after waiting about 6 minutes and honesty, the food was still hot and the karage was still crunchy. The oysters were to die for. The fries were still crunchy. I think they overfry their starches, but their meat is perfect inside. Don’t know how they do it. The chicken curry was tasty, very mild and tasty with a good portion of chicken breast. The ebicocktail is on the small portion side. They have about 3 shrimps in there… so there was not enough for my family of 4 to share. It is still good, just the portion is small. Overall the service was fast, accurate and very delicious. I would highly recommend this place. I took the pictures of the menus....
Read moreOrdered garlic shrimp and shrimp curry today. They got my order wrong and got the chicken curry. I called them for a refund of that plate and they said they will call me back. The shop closed and I haven't received a call back. They did offer to replace it if I were to go back but I would have to go back into waikiki which is a huge hassle. If they got my order right the first time, then this wouldn't be happening. I felt the garlic shrimp didn't have as much flavor as the garlic shrimp I had the night before at a different restaurant. I cant speak about the chicken as I dont like chicken curry. Disappointing really. Hopefully they will resolve this by issuing the refund in a timely manner. We did spend $50 for 2 dishes... really 1 sub par dish.
Update 3/3/2023. Manager finally contacts me and wants to know more about what went wrong and when. The manager states that no one told him about my problem and that he didn't have the opportunity to make things right until google maps finally notified him of my review. Well.. at least he did make it right which I very much appreciated. Happy to see management being engaged with their customers to ensure satisfaction. I've upgraded my rating and will reassess next time I...
Read moreIf a friend hadn't told me about this place, I probably would have never gone or taken notice. It is located in the heart of Waikiki just off Kuhio Ave., but inset, behind another building, so you can't see it from the street. It's small with outdoor patio style dinning if you want to eat there, but it really is more of a takeout kind of place.
They have a small yet very eclectic menu of items ranging from curries, stews, rice plates and fried items. Most of which focus around shrimp, but there are some beef items as well. I like that they offer an assortment of small bites as well as family size portions.
Tried there EbiCocktail, which was their take on a shrimp ceviche. It was tasty and refreshing. Probably the healthiest thing on the menu for those watching their calorie intake.
I also tried the Potato Shrimps. Very interesting small bites dish. It was different, yet very good. Something you should probably enjoy eating right away as it is a fried item that would taste best hot and crispy. I also tried their Ika Karaage which was basically calamari, but still very good.
For a quick bite and good food that is of good price value, check them out. Already thinking of trying other items I saw, so I...
