That’s the must-try on your list!
Sincerely, that’s not the best lobster roll I have tried, but that’s the one with the most lobster meat in proportion to the money you pay, and obviously, the freshness of it is mind-blowing.
They only have two positions on the menu: lobster salad and lobster roll. They also have some alcohol and soft drinks, but the beer selection is very limited and not so good.
FOOD
Lobster salad: very tasty, with lots of lobster meat, but the salad dressing had so much garlic that I was afraid to speak for the rest of the day.
Lobster roll: it is very plain, with no dressing, and not so buttery; it’s just a bun with lots of lobster meat, served on a side with a slice of lemon, regular chips, coleslaw, and a bit of sauce.
What I loved a lot and have not seen anywhere else: they have water glasses made of stainless steel. I am the one who loves it a lot, ice cold water! In that stainless steel glass, this water will cool you off in seconds.
AMBIENCE
They have some sitting space inside, and you can take a table outside. The sitting area is tiny. About 6 tables in total.
All tables were clean, and in general, the restaurant was immaculately clean, which is very important.
SERVICE
Service was kind and professional. There is not much to rate here, but the lady who took the order was helpful, and when bringing out the order, she explained the best way to eat the lobster roll.
I would certainly recommend reconsidering a dressing for a salad with less or no garlic and less vinegar. And I would think of better chips or a different side for a lobster roll.
I give strong four stars just because they have little...
Read moreThis is a small business run by a very enthusiastic young crew. Service is exceptional and you get a real sense of passion for the food and clientele.
The person who took our order put in a lot of effort to explain how best to bring out the flavour of the lobster and the shop proudly claims to have no extra filling. It's all lobster - and having tasted it, I have to agree. All lobster and very fresh too.
Chips instead of fries is a little sad but this seems to be a "no cooking" place so I was fine with that.
The location is a little awkward, being off the main street and just around the corner from Sephora. It's downstairs and there is no lift, so disabled access is problematic.
Tables are set out in essentially the stairwell, so it's a little cramped. There are six two-person tables there.
This is very much a lunch only place despite it appearing in advertising as a restaurant. It closes shortly before dinner time.
There are no toilets on site but it is part of a shopping centre which has central toilets.
Full marks for trying extra hard to the owners. I'd recommend adding a note to the sign above your entry to the effect that your customers can order from the top of the stairs if they find climbing them difficult.
Great quality food. This place does only one thing but it does...
Read moreI decided to try this place on my last day in the Waikiki area. I arrived right as they opened and was the only one there. There were only a few tables but everything was very clean and neat. The lobster roll came with chips, cole slaw and a little dipping sauce. Everything was delicious. The lobster roll was buttery and packed full of big lobster chunks.. no shredded or tiny diced pieces. You could taste how fresh it was. I don't normally eat slaw and I don't care for mayo. I ate everything! They use citrus in the slaw which gives it a nice light flavor... Really good. The owners were very attentive as well. I loved the wooden platter it was served on and the stainless steel cup that kept everything do cold. Nice thoughtful touches. While I was eating another customer came inside and ordered. She'd her about the restaurant through a family member who'd eaten there as well. It turns out this restaurant has open only a short period of time. I hope this great service continues as they get busier. I wish I would have discovered it earlier in my trip, I would have eaten there again with my family. Don't pass this one up if you're looking for...
