Located on the side of a gas station and inside its small store, this place is a true "hole in the wall." The decor outside is almost nonexistent, and it’s clear the passion goes into the food, not the furniture. This place is a hidden gem. The falafel sandwich was fantastic, crispy outside, moist and flavorful inside. And the gyro is the real star: tender, well-seasoned meat with a great tzatziki on the side. The food is cooked with care and passion, and the prices are more than fair. It's not for a fancy night out; it's for when you want excellent food that feels homemade and doesn't break the bank. I'm so sorry, I don't have another picture to share. The food smelled and looked so good, I just ate it without thinking.

I love this food, but the attitude and poor service of the staff SPOILS the food literally! There a young guy who greets you well and preps the food perfect! He is cool and deserves a great tip everytime, too bad he wasn't there today. Now as for the other staff I don't mind the broken English cause we're all hard working people, but they have dissapointment worn on their faces, poor rapport, and attitudes. I waited before tipping and guess what I got rancid olives today. Concern for their business I quickly informed them. Their attempt to make it right was a REDUCED salad without olives. (Look at picture). It pains to leave a bad review, but this is the second time I leave a $5 tip and get shafted....

Without a doubt, one of the best food deals in Houston. Don't let the fact that it's part of the gas station convenience store faze you one bit. Take a look at the amount of food in pics. The gyro plate is 12.50 - whole bunch of gyro meat freshly sauteed in front of you, very large Greek salad and dressing, hot pita bread, fries and ketchup, and tzatziki sauce. The gyro meat tasted as good as I remember from dives in Chicago. The salad was fresh - no wilted greens here! And steak fries were crispy on the outside and soft inside. Absolute perfection all around. Service was very friendly and quick. There are a few tables and chairs to sit and eat at. What a hidden gem!

Not sure I’m exactly an affiocando of Greek food but I grew up with a Greek family and my last name is Greek so definitely consider it a part of my heritage. I have been now to a few Greek places in Houston and while I’ve found some good places Ekko’s is my favorite. I always get the gyros plate and the meat has great seasoning and I really like their tzatziki recipe. It’s also quite thick. They also give you a ton of meat with the gyros plate - probably enough for two meals - and the fries are awesome. They’re seasoned really well and when you get them hot out of the fryer they’re SO good. I’d kind of like more pita but who knows maybe they’d give you more if you asked. The pita also seems quite fresh and like they actually make it themselves (a lot of Greek places don’t).

Yes Ekko’s is in a gas station but in Texas that’s a feature not a bug. I don’t think I’ve lived somewhere that has more colocated food places with gas stations than Texas. Hey at least it’s not yet another taqueria. There’s a lot of room to eat...

While the food is good, unfortunately customer service is very lacking, I ordered 2 salads, a gyro and some grape leaves, the cashier never put the gyro in my order, I didn't even realize that she didn't, I pick my food and drive away, when I got to my job I realized the gyro was missing, I called for an explanation, she said just come pick it up, she even acknowledged she messed up and apologized, even offered a refund, I said well, that's but I prefer the gyro and I'll go pick it up, BTW this place is half hour away from my job, I drove back, when I got there she says: sir you never order any gyros, look at the ticket, and you can speak to my manager, he says since you never order I can't make it, I said: is not my mistake she forgot to put it in, and she then denied me ever ordering the sandwich, I just walked away, can't believe it, she really didn't even wanted to admit she made a mistake in front of her boss, funny thing she actually put the sauce for the...

The food is authentic and delicious is not a strong enough adjective. Cozy, family owned and operated for forever. A Houston landmark that I hope never gets tired of being the best. The lady that runs the general store is always genuinely inviting, not the fake nice or shite attitudes from other places. The pricing is better than fair to the customer and they have the best variety of everybodys favorites and other items that I've only seen there. If I was more punctual I'd be a two a day customer but I run late to work on the reg and have to miss out on my fresh, never frozen(like some other better known Greek businesses in the area) Gyro. Don't miss out on the Demitri burger; named after the son of the owner it should be the best on the menu and in my opinion it is that and more. Bottom line real meats, you see them mold your ground beef into your patty and the bacon is like no other....
