Walk down a nondescript alleyway in downtown and knock at a door. No signs point the way, knock, and enter through a door with a doorman. You’ll go down a flight of industrial stairs to an underground place that feels slightly other-worldly.
The experience at the Soiled Dove (an old slang-term for a lady who would share her physical delights for a price) is wholly unique in Idaho Falls. The ambience is appropriately dim and moody and the interior has been crafted with care. Scattered around are references in the decor to Idaho Falls’ once tawdry and glittery past as a place with colorful prostitutes and actual speakeasies. (I, for one, am hoping that its glamorous yet relaxed atmosphere will encourage people to dress up a bit.)
The drinks are incredibly well balanced, and frankly the best I have had in Idaho Falls. I would put them up against ones I have had in Seattle, San Francisco, and London. It’s obvious they have been crafted with care. I especially loved the espresso martini. The fellows I was with loved the whiskey ones, which were creative and yet smooth.
We tried the charcuterie board and I do have a couple of things to say about it. The raised cake stand, while cool looking, made it more difficult to reach items, and did get in the way a bit, especially when sitting at a more intimate table. Additionally for all of the lovely meats and cheeses and things on the board, there wasn’t nearly enough bread. I would recommend doubling the amount of bread and bringing it out in a separate basket or dish. (I have been again recently, and again, please include more bread!)
The desserts are the most delicious I have had in town! They are currently featuring a special of panna cotta, a delicious milk based custard, served with fresh fruit and preserves. It pairs wonderfully with the chocolate gateau. I suggest getting both they are decadent!
Overall it was an outstanding evening with excellent service. I highly recommend that you visit it and I hope that their quality will...
Read moreIt's so awesome Idaho Falls has a place like this! I was so impressed, downtown IF has really had a glow up the past few years and this place definitely reflects that change. The environment was amazing. Love the interior design and how it truly gives that old timey feel without being too modern and dull. The food was beautifully plated and tasted just as amazing as it looked. The drink menu is so sophisticated and unique. We had both cocktails and mocktails and they tasted so fresh and not like artificial flavoring and syrup. The wait staff were so polite and courteous. She was so great and she knew her stuff when it came to the drink menu. Loved it. The bartender was so kind and was quite the busy bee. There really wasn't a wait time on our drinks. Everyone was extremely professional without being uptight and that's what really stuck out to me. There was live jazz and it really set the tone and was just so different than what Idaho Falls is used to. It definitely is worth checking out! We're coming back! The only thing that threw me off is the hostess was not dressed in professional attire that matched the wait staff and bartending staff. Maybe she doesn't have a uniform yet? Not a big deal but she sure stuck out like a sore thumb. Overall this place is more than what we all expected and we may have found our new favorite spot. Thank you...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of stepping into The Soiled Dove Speakeasy—and what an unforgettable experience! Tucked away beneath downtown Idaho Falls, this place felt like a beautifully preserved time capsule of the 1920s. From the moment you edge down the alley off B Street to the unassuming entrance next to Urban Nook Salon, you know you're in for something special. Inside, the dim lighting, moody décor, and discreet elegance transport you to a bygone era filled with intrigue and understated glamour. The cocktails are nothing short of masterful—offered with a creative flair that feels both modern and steeped in history. Pair them with the refined tapas-style small plates, and you’ve got a perfect mix of indulgence and sophistication. The ambiance truly sets it apart. On our visit, smooth jazz played softly in the background, heightening the mystique and pulling you deeper into the experience. The staff were warm, knowledgeable, and added delightful snippets of local history to the evening—not just service, but storytelling with a smile. Whether you're on a date, catching up with friends, or simply looking for something out of the ordinary, The Soiled Dove delivers an intimate, atmospheric escape. Highly recommended for anyone craving a night of history, charm, and...
