Steak 'n Shake is an absolute culinary treasure, and it's no surprise it earns a solid five stars in my book. From the moment you step through the door, you're greeted with the tantalizing aroma of sizzling burgers and hand-dipped milkshakes, setting the stage for a truly exceptional dining experience.
First and foremost, let's talk about the food. The burgers at Steak 'n Shake are legendary for a reason. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, each bite is a symphony of taste sensations. And don't even get me started on the fries – crispy, golden, and utterly addictive. Plus, the menu offers a variety of options to suit every craving, from classic Steakburgers to inventive specialty burgers and everything in between.
But the indulgence doesn't stop there. Steak 'n Shake's milkshakes are a thing of beauty. Made with real milk and hand-dipped ice cream, they're rich, creamy, and downright decadent. With flavors ranging from classic chocolate and vanilla to indulgent specialties like Nutella and cookie dough, there's a milkshake for every sweet tooth.
In addition to the stellar food, the service at Steak 'n Shake is consistently excellent. The staff are friendly, attentive, and always go above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. Whether you're dining in or hitting the drive-thru, you can expect prompt service with a smile.
Another standout feature of Steak 'n Shake is its nostalgic diner atmosphere. With its retro decor and cozy booths, it's like taking a step back in time to the golden age of American diners. It's the perfect setting for enjoying a delicious meal with family and friends.
Overall, Steak 'n Shake is a true gem in the world of fast-casual dining. With its mouthwatering burgers, irresistible milkshakes, impeccable service, and charming atmosphere, it's no wonder Steak 'n Shake has earned a place in the hearts of food lovers everywhere. Five stars –...
Read moreThis is my first time at Steak & Shake since its pandemic shutdown and dining room reopen. I found staff to be very friendly. Though no waitperson tends to diners, an associate walked around checking on us. The facility was actually very clean, with an employee wiping counters several times and a door bottom when we left. My real problem has nothing to do with local staff; the CEO created a caricature of what Steak and Shake was. Black & white wall pictures of the restaurants’ old days were almost depressing, because they depicted better food quality and a better overall operation that was family-outing centric . I recognize various restaurants often struggle with staff churn these days; consequently, automation finds its way into such space. The menu stations here where everybody swipes their fingers is unsettling. No Steak and Shake provided materials sit on hand to disinfect between users. Menu items have less options than in the past. Nostalgic Cherry, vanilla, and the occasional lemon, soda flavor adds no longer exist… simply standard fountain drinks and sweet/unsweetened tea. The food ingredients and what seemed diminished sizing may reflect not too bad pricing (a double cheeseburger, medium cheese fry, drink, with tip, was like $12-ish). Milkshake’s seen at other tables appeared normal. I wish the best for an American Heritage Diner turned straight fast food, but I’m not anxious for a return and not sure there’ll be one anytime soon. At this point, Steak & Shake is directly competing with traditional fast food powerhouses offering more substance, and established mindset among consumers; it has a long...
Read moreThis is the worst service I've ever had at a steak n shake, and I've visited some locations at 3am! They weren't overly busy, but everything was extremely slow. It was not clean (they didn't even bother to seat us at a clean table) and the bathroom floor was sticky from wall to wall. Despite being the only party waiting, it took almost 10 minutes to get a table. Our server took her sweet time, too. We finally got orders in and waited for our food. It took over 30 minutes to get a couple burgers (one incorrect as we had subbed coleslaw for the fries and still ended up with fries), and the shake we ordered still hadn't arrived. We pointed out both errors and the server brought out coleslaw about 10 minutes later. We brought up the shake again and she seemed surprised it hadn't arrived. She left to check on it and came back as we were finishing to tell us someone "stole" our shake and they were making a new one. We asked her to put it in a to-go cup just so we could leave eventually. She did so and brought it to our table, but neglected to bring our check. That took another 5-10 minutes. We went to the counter to pay. While waiting, we heard several complaints from other tables and a server came up and asked the manager to void an item because it had hair in it. We also observed one of the cooks, who came out of the kitchen, smeared her hand across her nose and then put on a fresh pair of gloves. We finally got to the counter to pay and notified the manager, who was running the register, of the issues we'd had. He sighed and took off 2/3 of our check like it was normal and wished us a...
