Started going to Tinker after the City Market closed for renovations, and I am now obsessed!
They have a changing seasonal menu of specialty lattes, and my go-to for Spring has been their Honey Vanilla latte with expressed orange. I wasn't entirely sure what expressed orange meant until I tried it, but it's basically the natural orange zest from the peel, added to the drink. It doesn't change the overall flavor that much except gives it a lovely orangey aroma that enhances the drink very well.
The staff are all extremely friendly, and help point out and recommend good drinks. They also have made an effort to remember me and my drink choices after only a few trips in and I always really appreciate batistas that do that, it's the little extra in customer service that keeps me coming back.
The atmosphere is also really nice, and would be a very cool place to meet with friends, or do some solo work on a day off. The music playing over the speakers isn't too loud, and is usually not your stereotypical pop music. There's also a little coffee bar seating area, which I'd love to get a chance to use sometime soon.
Really love discovering small local businesses around Indy, and this one has been a...
Read moreI had some time to burn and have been walking by this location from Wheeler Mission for a long time. I came in and ordered a 12oz. Mocha, the Cheapskate, and some Pepper Jelly for about $12. Unfortunately, they didn't have all of the ingredients to make the breakfast sausage (out of pimento cheese), but the substitute they gave me was still very good. The little corner coffee shop is very welcoming with good free wifi. The staff got me the sugar content on my mocha when I requested it, and a lot of their food looks both good and very interesting. Probably the best breakfast sandwich I ever had, even with missing ingredients (previously mentioned pimento cheese). The chairs are very comfortable and overall the whole place has a warm feeling. I left a $2 tip, and am writing this review in store. The only two places they could improve at is cleanliness (not to say it's dirty) and getting hand out menus as every seat can't read the menu of you have vision problems or near sightedness, maybe a lgbt...
Read moreThis place is great. My brother and I tried it on a whim one Saturday morning about 6 months ago and I've been back probably every other week since. If I could afford it I would go every day. To start with the staff is friendly and just seem really chill. The coffee is great. I will admit in the past I'd say I'm just as happy with gas station coffee as fancy coffee house coffee, but Tinker has changed my mind. I almost always get the Maple Miso which is incredible btw, but every time I've tried something new even if it wasn't something I'd get again there's nothing I've hated. And the cheapside sandwich is truly the greatest breakfast sandwich I have ever had. I love this place and will go out of my way to go here over corporate chains. It's just such a...
