Thought seething was pretty rude from the beginning. They were not very busy but our server made us feel very rushed. She snatched the menu from my husband after we ordered. I ordered the "sweet potato" fries, veggie Ramen and creme Brule boba. The fries came out first and it was very obvious that they were just regular pain potato waffle fries. As the server put them on the table I said I believe those are regular fries and she said "no, they are sweet potato" and she left quickly. We tried them and they were in fact regular fries. I asked a server that was busing a table next to ours and our service noticed and came over also. I asked do you also serve regular fries? They said 'no just sweet potato' and I said 'well these are not sweet potato so... They argued with me saying they are, l even showed them by breaking open a fry. Mind you, their menu has pictures and shows a very orange sweet potato fry. I asked do they know what sweet potato are? They then told us, that that's what they call regular potatoes in Japanese, which is an absolute lie. I may not be Japanese but we love Japanese culture and cuisine and regularly tavel great distances to try new places, and I order sweet potato at every Japanese restaurant I've been to. Ultimately, they refused to say they were regular potato and took the dish and removed it from our bill. We ate the rest of our meal with tension from the whole interactions. Unfortunately, I also wasn't impressed with the vegetarian Ramen. I didn't realize this restaurant just opened until we were leaving. They definitely need more customer service training because this was not it. And to correct their menu to remove sweet potato k if that is not what they are going to serve. I did enjoy the boba but honestly, boba places are a dime a dozen now a days and I'd rather go somewhere friendly than come back here. We made the trip from Kent just...
Read moreMy husband and I had lunch here on a Tuesday afternoon and it was a great experience! The restaurant was mostly empty since it was a weekday afternoon, and everything we ordered came out very fast. We each ordered boba - I got the classic milk tea with tapioca, and my husband got the honeydew milk tea with strawberry popping boba. Both drinks had a lot of flavor and tasted great, but are a little on the sweet side (for me anyways). We then ordered ramen and an appetizer. They have a combo meal where you get ramen and an appetizer for $18-19, so we ordered one of those and another ramen. Our appetizer was the Takoyaki and it was some of the best I’ve had! It was bursting with flavor and you could see pieces of octopus in it. There were six of them and it was perfect to split between two people. I got the Char Siu Ramen and my husband got the Spicy Beef Ramen. They were soooo good! Very flavorful, lots of toppings, and was filling! The pork was tender and falling apart. I went home with leftovers and my husband was full. Lastly, we ordered two mochi donuts - the glazed pebbles (fruity pebbles) and the s'mores (chocolate icing and marshmallow drizzle). They were perfectly fried and chewy and the topping to donut ratio was perfect. They tasted very fresh and weren’t stale or overly dense at all. SO GOOD. They have different flavors every month. The service was quick, and the staff were attentive. The bathrooms and dining area were super clean. Overall, the environment was inviting and spacious. Two drinks, one appetizer, two ramen, and two mochi donuts came out to around $56. The waiter gave us a coupon and said that if you spend $50 or more in the month of September, then you will get $10 off a meal (dine in or carry out) from 11/1-12/31. Totally recommend!! We...
Read moreThe first time I visited this restaurant, the food was phenomenal, and the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming—this was when it had just opened. However, my experience today was quite different. I was met with the most unfriendly staff I've encountered in a while.
The hostess was rude and didn't even offer a greeting, our waitress was incredibly cold and impolite. She took a long time to take our order and didn’t refill our water unless asked. Each time we said thank you, she didn't respond, simply placing our food down without a word. My cup sat empty as she stared at us for about 15 minutes.
When she finally refilled my water, after I had to ask, it was warm and without ice, as if it came straight from the tap.
The food was subpar, not nearly as good as I remembered. The broth tasted almost sour and left a bad aftertaste. There was also an imbalance in the ratio of noodles to broth. The prices were unjustifiable for the small portion of fries we received for $7 and the six minuscule gyoza. The chicken quality was poor; biting into it, you could see strands of tendon, and it was impossible to bite through the small nugget in our dish. The broth was both unflavorful and overly salty.
When I walked into the bathroom the other worker who was there was just standing against a stall on her phone texting.
There were literally only 3 other people in the restaurant and it shows why.
I had been eagerly anticipating my return to this place for months, but having explored many other ramen spots since, I've unfortunately decided that I won't be returning...
