Sheena and Shaun are the real deal when it comes to the diamond business. They have a deep knowledge of diamonds, comparable to Blue Nile in price, diamond selection and quality, but with the added bonus of outstanding customer service!! Highly recommend.
Here's more background if you have time to read the rest of my review -- My fiance and I were looking for rings for the last couple of months and decided this past weekend to finally take the plunge. After looking at diamond jewelers online and in the area, we decided to purchase the ring at Blue Nile. Along with our budget, we knew exactly the 4C's for the engagement ring. We were just unsure of my ring size. Since BlueNile is an online jeweler, they suggested we identify the exact ring size to avoid the back and forth headaches of mailing the ring back for resizing. As a result, we went to the Newport mall to figure out my ring size......We first went to Zales. Talk about terrible customer service!! Although the sales person apologized, we still waited 25 minutes and watched while other shoppers who came after us received attention before us even though we asked for help multiple times. Once the sales person started showing us rings, her lack of diamond knowledge was evident! Even when I asked about their cushion cut diamonds selection, her response was--there's no such thing as such a diamond. Although they sized my ring finger, her suggestion was way off from a previous jeweler. Frustrated with the experience, we were on our way out but decided to try one more place.
Thanks to our friend Googlemap, we came across Diamond Hut. Neither of us were familiar with the store or the previous reviews.
We went into Diamond Hut with ZERO expectation, let alone purchasing a ring especially after our experience at Zales. The customer service at Diamond Hut blew us away. The minute we came in, we were greeted and asked if we needed help. After we expressed our interest, we were seated right away with Sheena. She was incredible! Sheena took the time to listen to our needs, budget, and patiently answered all of our questions. I didn't give her too many details at first, but she quickly figured out what I was looking for and selected the exact type of ring we were looking for. She also provided helpful suggestions we had not considered for the setting and type of metal for the ring. Surprisingly for being at a mall, the pricing, and 4 C's were comparable to BlueNile. However as Sheena quickly pointed out, BlueNile doesn't offer the in-person customer service, cleaning, upkeep, and ring resizing options available at Diamond Hut. Her husband, Shaun also provided additional insights and diamond education.
After spending a significant amount of time at Diamond Hut, we purchased my beautiful halo...
Read moreWhy don't they allow you to give zero stars? That's what this Jeweler deserves. They appear to be okay at first glance when they're trying to get your money but if you run into any issues, then you'll see how rude and unprofessional they are.
I took my ironman watch to them to replace the battery probably a year or two ago. I went back the same day, got my watch and went swimming. After swimming, I noticed my watch had water in it???? They had not sealed it properly and the watch was basically ruined.
I went back to their store to tell them what had happened. I forget the name of the guy I spoke to. Seems he's either the manager or part owner of this fraudulent joint. He started off by trying to say l was somehow at fault for bringing my watch to them. Then he said they were going to send my watch to someplace but that he was not sure they would be able to do anything. I told him that would not be acceptable because they ruined my watch and if they were sending it anywhere and they could not fix it, they would have to replace the watch.
It went downhill from there. Cut long story short he insulted me and I returned the favor. He also called the mall cops on me. I waited for them to arrive. They of course couldn't do much but ask me step away from their store. I ended up deciding they were not worth my getting arrested. At one point he offered to refund the money I paid for the repair only if I signed a document stating I would not post any negative reviews about them. I resisted at first but later relented knowing that signing a document would not prevent me from putting in a review.
I believe it was the same day or the next I created a negative review but somehow could not post it. I tried multiple time but still couldn't. Hopefully this works now.
I apologize to all the people that did not get to see my post and have gone to do business with...
Read moreThe worst place to repair you jewelry. I went there on 6/22/15 to get the loop of my pendant bigger, at first I asked them is it something that can be done? she reply "let me ask the guy who does it", then she came back and tell me:" we can do it for you but he is busy right now you can leave it and pick it up on 6/25/15". My sterling silver had "DARNIX" ENGRAVE ON IT, I left it there to get the loop bigger. I went back there on 6/26/15 to pick it up the guy shout very loud from the back " I did not have time to fix it, tell her to come back". I was told to come back on the 6/27/15 at 1PM. I went there on 6/30/15 it was ready. when I got home I found out the name was changed. They wrote DAENIX on it "THEY DID NOT ENGRAVE IT" it was just written and it looked like a mess. I called them, the guy told me: "I am the who fixed it, the letter came out I just wrote what I think was written just bring it back I will fix it", and he had the nerves to yell at me. I went back there the same day 6/30/15 at 3:20 pm, did not have a chance to see the guy because he was gone for the day I was told to leave it there so it can be POLISHED and ENGRAVED. I told them I don't want that mess if they cannot fix it they will have to give me back the money I paid for it or fix it the way it was before. I am currently waiting for it. I don't know how they are going to repair the mess they did. That was very unprofessional, the guy wasn't supposed to guess what was written and wrote what he guessed, they had my phone number they could have called me to ask me to spell the name . It was a surprise gift but now they ruined everything by being careless and unprofessional. I If you really care about your jewelry, DON'T GO THERE...
