EAT HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK – THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER SAFETY
I was at this location on June 7th, and I will never eat here again after what happened. I’m a regular customer—I’ve come here often during work and have always supported this place. But after this experience, I feel completely disrespected and unsafe.
I found a sharp piece of what appeared to be glass in my food. I calmly and politely informed the staff and asked them to discard the food so no one else would be harmed. Instead of taking it seriously, they acted like I was just trying to get something for free.
Let me be clear—I did NOT ask for a refund at first. All I wanted was for them to take responsibility and remove the dangerous food. They responded by asking if I wanted another portion of the same food or a refund. I told them I didn’t want either—I wanted them to stop serving that dish to others. After their disrespectful attitude and complete disregard for safety, I finally said fine, give me the refund—but even then, I told them to keep it. This was never about money. It was about doing the right thing.
And yet, they still refused to remove the food from being served. That alone says everything about how little they care about customer well-being.
To make things worse, when I said I would be contacting corporate and posting about this, one of the employees began recording me with his phone—trying to intimidate me instead of listening or apologizing. I wasn’t being aggressive, I was being concerned and responsible. I’ve already reached out to corporate, and of course, I haven’t heard a word back.
If something goes wrong with your food here, don’t expect accountability. Don’t expect safety. This place does not take food safety seriously, and some of the staff are flat-out rude and unprofessional.

Read moreI eat at the little beet in midtown manhattan all the time. So when my department was having a team lunch at our jersey city office, we decided to cater from the jersey city location. We went through a catering service. The food was good and the delivery was timely. My gripe is with the little beet store. There were no plates packed in the delivery. I called catering service who called the restaurant who claimed there were plates. Even though they claim there were plates, they didnt even offer to send "another" set to us. I have 20 people sitting in a conference room with all this food and no plates. In that office location, there are no stores close enough to just run in and buy paper plates. I had to ask the little eatery downstairs if i could buy 20 paper plates from them. Luckily they were kind enough to give me plates. That was bad customer service on the part of the little beet. We won't cater...
Read moreI'd compare Little Beet to two similar grain-protein-veggie-bowl places nearby: Cava (Exchange Place) and Quality Greens (Hoboken Wash St).
Cava has a different veggie mix, but in general there's more variety, and portions are larger.
Quality Greens has a similar protein and veggie mix, but everything is cooked better. Salmon seems to be broiled there, as opposed to pan fried and flipped at Little Beet. Also, the standard doneness at Little Beet is "well done" and they don't seem willing to do a proper barely-done. They do use much less oil at Little Beet than Quality Greens -- so decide your tradeoff between health and tastiness. Portion sizes at Little Beet are a bit smaller and a touch pricier.
So overall, it's a bit worse than everything else. But still...
