After having a reservation 3 weeks in advance and to the horrible disappointment and customer service by manager Robert Rosado .. Here we go seated on a table which smelt like some chemical around .. then moved to another ya me with a disappointment of not having water for almost 30 mins to change of dirty classes 4 times to which in between were given wine glasses for water. And switched again.. there goes my hour figuring out our water war at this NASDAQ listed company. Ordered drinks and appetizer Almost done with appetizers we were asked to place order for Main course.. bought to their notice that they have still not got our drinks which were expected with the appetizers .Finally we place the order and we get our drinks in a few saying they out of glasses so they had to serve the martini in a wine glass . Then arrives our main course and one steak order which was asked to be well done comes out medium rare, and I was not able to have a meal for myself. after 20 mins Mr Robert happened to pass by and I told him about what’s happening and he just passed a weird comment saying u shud have told earlier .. how do u expect to say something when u just came to my table .. he scoffs of saying lemme se if i can take off something .. .. was astonished at his attitude as to he thinks I would care for a couple of bucks when I can afford usd500 meal. To our savior had another manager Ms Crystal come over and and as we were explaining the situation ..Mr Robert had some guts to make fun of us.. felt insulted as hell . Even Ms Crystal had no words left as for his behavior I asked that he apologize but he cared less Ms Crystal apologized on his behalf again and again .. she was so down to earth-and her approach to the whole situation due to which my anger and upsetness disappeared in a whiff.I cud not believe a hungry me was back smiling . Being in the service industry understand the pressure that goes on during any occasions as like it was Mother’s Day today, but there are ways to handle it. Thank u to Vincent and Crystal for taking care of the situation Mother’s Day to remember for life @ruthschris
My last note .. would still like an apology from Mr. Robert amd hoping @ruthschris u will r take a strict action against your manager who has the odesity of making fun of his customer instead of apologizing for the inconvenience and promote people like Mr Vincent and Ms Crystal for their loyalty and customer...
Read moreThe food was great; however, the service was quite disappointing. We had planned to take our father out for his birthday. From start to finish, our experience was not to the standard of the fine dining that is Ruth's Chris.
We had reserved a table for six and, upon arrival to the restaurant, the host led us to our table that only had five chairs. After bringing this issue to the host's attention, it took a full 5 minutes before the host could provide us with a chair. My party and I were standing around our table, which should have already been prepared, for five minutes while our host seated other guests instead of solving the issue at hand.
After receiving our chair and having a seat, our server came to take our drink orders. We ordered a couple of drinks and water for the table with lime on the side. The server came around after 10 minutes to take our food orders, but we had yet to receive our water. The server then got us water but did not bring us the side of lime and never brought us our lime during our dinner. This was the only time we received water despite asking for refills throughout the night.
We then received bread for the table, and during the time we spent waiting for our meals, we finished the bread and asked for more bread for the table, and, just like our waters, they never came.
After dinner was finished, they came to “clean” the table. Please see the picture attached for the final product of what they deemed clean. Our party had to literally get up, grab the attention of the staff and hand them the rest of the silverware, plates, and cups. I am not particularly a snooty person, but with the prices that Ruth Chris’s charges, you’d think the quality of hospitality would match with it’s fine dining experience.
I’ve been to other Ruth's Chris in the past and this was not the quality I’ve experienced in any other one except this one in Jersey City. I would grade the food a 4/5 and the hospitality a 0/5. Really poor job. Despite our waitresses best attempts, the meal truly was soured from the beginning when the hostess left us standing awkwardly in the middle of a restaurant for 5 full minutes despite bringing the chair issue to her attention. Read moreI had dinner at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse in Newport - Jersey City on the evening of May 12, 2024 and to say it was extremely disappointing is an understatement. We started off with with the shrimp cocktail and the crab meat stuffed mushrooms which are usually great but this time they were just okay. In addition to the mushrooms we ordered the shrimp cocktail which looked great but ultimately was disappointing as the cocktail sauce had WAY too much horseradish and was inedible not to mention it came out late.
My mom ordered the petite filet with lobster tail and got it Oscar style (crab cake, asparagus, and hollandaise sauce) medium rare and the filet came out WELL DONE. The asparagus were wilted and overcooked and the whole thing looked unappetizing. We had to send it back and wait for her dish to come out again. In addition to the entrées we got creamed spinach which tasted like it was previously frozen and store bought.
I was disappointed as the creamed spinach is usually incredible and I even look forward to have the leftovers the next day. This time…we sent it back as it looked like vomit and tasted like it too. Once the food was corrected things were great but it was a damper on the entire evening.
There was also kids screaming and crawling around the floors in between table so I don’t know what was going on. I even had to bring to the managers attention that the men’s restroom looked like a rest area restroom with paper towels and toilet paper all over the place. I felt like I was at an IHOP not Ruth’s Chris.
I was a frequent guest at this restaurant and have always had incredible experiences but this time left a lot to be desired. For a premium price I expect a premium product and experience but there was a lot of room for improvement.
I typically don’t leave negative reviews after ONE bad experience given that I have had many great ones but the experience we had warranted a response.
If it wasn’t for our server Johnny (who has always been amazing) this entire evening would have been a disaster. It’s clear to me that management at this location is subpar and they have a lot of work to do to bring this location back to the standards guests of Ruth’s Chris have come to expect...
