This is just one of the coziest coffee shops I've ever been in. The walls are full of HP memorabilia (artwork, tapestries, a sorting hat!). The seating is an eclectic mix of tables/chairs and couches/coffee tables. Quite a few places to charge devices. They were running a HP marathon on a projector when I was there, which was just delightful. I had the Phoenix latte, it was quite good. They have several themed drinks, including a Butterbeer latte. I also had some of the dark roast drip coffee, which is very reasonably priced. They have a large pastry case with a number of scones and tea breads, as well as quiche. They also have a separate case with some gluten free or vegan pastries. There is one bathroom, which was very clean and neat (not wheelchair accessible, as it is up a step). Overall, their drinks and atmosphere are exactly what a Harry Potter-themed coffee shop should be like. One feels like one is studying in a Hogwarts common room. If I lived closer, I'd be here all the time. <3

I had been excited to come until I had read a review that didn't speak highly of the place. Nonetheless, I ventured. The cafe has pretty nice Harry Potter vibes, but also has a huge mural of pop culture music icons (which is cool, don't get me wrong, it just doesn't belong in an HP themed cafe. Can you picture it in any of the House common rooms?!). It threw me off. The beverage I got was delish - Phoenix Latte. I didn't have food, but I imagine it would be good as well. The part that really threw me off though, was when a couple walked in and they flat out told the couple they couldn't serve them because they were closed.... It was 5:30ish on a Sunday, and they close at 6pm. Fix the hours, fix the customer service.

1 STAR REVIEW OF THE MEAN MANAGER ON DUTY OCTOBER 8, 2022. 5 STAR REVIEW FOR BARISTAS IZZY & BELLA. Shame on this manager for walking in close to 7 PM and angrily asking the TWO hardworking employees why they were still serving customers at this time (an hour after close). There’s a great reason — customer service. It’s no secret that the annual fall festival draws hundreds of visitors to the town, many who are eager to get a taste of the magic at Muggles’ Mug. With this in mind, it’s completely unfair that there were only 2-3 employees working on this incredibly busy Saturday. The manager could not wrap her head around the fact that the wonderful baristas, Izzy and Bella, were finishing making drinks for every person that remained on that line until 15 minutes before closing time (5:45pm). These two young women, Izzy and Bella, were INCREDIBLY personable and professional, on top of the fact that they made the best lattes we’ve ever had— and they did so while keeping their composure amidst the masses visiting the shop during the fall festival. They went outside multiple times to stop the line from building, letting people know that they would not be able to be served as the store was closing soon, however, the line was already incredibly long and people had already waited ~one hour. This wait was not due to their work ethic, but because people were ordering everything on the menu essentially once they got inside. Izzy & Bella made our experience here so well worth the wait. And the wait was over an hour and a half. I am hoping they will both make overtime $$$$ for working another hour after close, so until 7 PM on a Saturday night, as their wonderful efforts brought in tons of profit during peak travel season. Izzy & Bella thank you for making our experience at Muggles’ Mug so wonderful. And perhaps consider how your manager speaks to people — it’s completely unacceptable to treat your employees the way you did this evening, and so blatantly in front of guests.

Muggles Mug has a unique atmosphere that really gives off Harry Potter vibes, making you feel like you’ve stepped into a scene from the movies. I tried the Butter Brew Latte and the Mandrake Maple Latte, along with a white chocolate raspberry scone. The drinks were quite sweet, more so than I typically prefer as I lean towards less sweet, more espresso-flavored options. While the scone was tasty, it was served warmed up, and I usually prefer them at room temperature. It would have been nice to have the option to choose and perhaps some jelly on the side. The prices were on the higher side for what you get. Overall, it’s not a bad spot to check out if you’re in the area, especially if you’re a Harry Potter fan. However, I don’t think I’d go out of my way to visit again.

Disappointed... I was told it was a Harry potter themed cafe, but when I entered, its nothing that sort of. yeah, a couple of HP artifacts were lying here and there but it was not look like HP themed restaurant. I don’t know what type of cloth was on the couch, did not feel like sitting. It’s been said, they always play HP movies on projector screens - NOPE, did not find that too! The drinks were good though. We ordered - their HP special (butter beer), and Frappe. both cost around $6 each (12 Oz). spend some time there and then left for another attraction. just walking down Broadway in Jim Thorpe feels magical with the winding, hilly streets dotted along on either side with colorful 19th-century buildings!
