It's always a little bittersweet posting about a local hotspot; the places gets the respect and patronage it so rightly deserves but local charm can be easily worn away by an influx of out-of-towners.
Well, I'm am out-of-towner so I guess it's my job to give props. Devil's Club brewing was recommended to me by a few locals and seasonal workers, raving it had better beer and vibes than Alaskan Brewing itself. I took their word for it and abandoned my Alaskan plans to come here.
I can say without a doubt, I'm happy I did so.
Local beer always tastes a little bit fresher. This place has ten beers on tap, ranging from IPAs and IPLs to raspberry bretts and sours. Everyone who works here gives service with a smile along with great advice when asked. The beer is exactly what you want it to be, the location has table seating for 40-50 people and some lounge seating, and the decor is extremely environment-forward with plants and 'living' art with plants in a jar. Combined with the sexy wood wall paneling and stools, it works.
I didn't enjoy any food this trip but can tell you the smells were on point and a few employees heavily recommended the Cubano.
Come here for music, beer, a relaxing environment, some wicked hats at their merch area, and good times. Local or not, I hesitate to say you'd be...

Read moreOverall, a great place! The beer selection here was varied enough to suit most everyone's tastes including IPAs, Belgian Triples, pale ales, sours (although these were a little too a sweet to be called true sours) and even bourbon barrel aged. We found the IPA to be the most pleasing although the bourbon barrel aged may have been the most unique beer we tried. The lemon meringue will please any non beer drinkers in the house.
The food here was also notably good. The hummus platter was amazing! Highly recommend.
The employees here are wonderful. So considerate and polite about the masks and distancing. One of the few places we've been to lately that made a real effort to make everyone feel comfortable in today's time! They are also knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to...
