Came here Friday, 2/3/2023. I took my brother here for his 37th birthday. The first thing you'll notice as you walk in was the incredible atmosphere. From the moment you open the door you can be certain of an incredible experience. A live band was playing some nice jazz and renditions of classic soul. Our server, Andrea, was simply incredible throughout the night and not a single detail was overlooked. She poured us our drinks, plated our food and answered any questions that we had with confidence. She told me she had only been there for about a year but had fine dining experience before and it certainly showed. Her professionalism and attentiveness were top notch. Never once did we feel neglected or pressured.
For drinks my brother had the tableside smoked old fashioned. A heads up to those are interested, this drink is VERY spirit forward as it mentions in the menu. Nonetheless, a classy pairing to any meal. I had a glass of the Flowers, Sonoma 2021 Pinot Noir which was a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity.
What is there to say of the food? Of course, it was amazing. For appetizers we had the yellowtail sashimi and the lobster tacos. The sashimi was very delicious and tender with a very noticeable fiery kick. The tacos were simply outstanding, and I would go back just for that. A standout part of the meal was the lobster bisque soup which was served by pouring into a bowl that had a cheese-crusted crouton topped with a decent piece of lobster. The bisque was incredibly creamy and rich with a strong lobster forward taste.
As for main courses, my brother had the 30oz bone in porterhouse which came out a perfect medium rare and his accompaniment of jumbo crab stuffed shrimp were lovely as well. I had the 8oz filet and South African Lobster tail. The steak was a perfect medium rare and incredibly tender and delicious. One of the best I've ever had. The lobster tail had an incredible bite to it, which was only amplified by the fresh squeezed half lemon and tableside drawn butter.
For sides we went with the lobster mashed potatoes and truffled mac and cheese for our sides which both were large enough to share and both equally delicious, especially so the lobster mashed potatoes which were very silky.
To top things off while we both had already incredibly indulged throughout the night, we simply had to try the desserts which was the perfect sweet treat to end our evening. I had the Bananas Foster Bread Cake which was flambéed tableside and served with butter pecan ice cream. It's easily the best dessert I think I've ever had; it was only a shame I couldn't finish it as I was so full from the rest of our meal. My brother enjoyed the Chocolate Godiva cake, which was incredibly rich and delicious.
All in all, it was the fine dining experience I was looking for, and in fact, exceeded my expectations. I will certainly be back again and would not hesitate to recommend this location to anyone seeking an incredible...
Read moreAfter hearing rave reviews of how great the crab fried rice was, I decided to make a takeout order to try this crab fried rice. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to pickup my takeout order until, wait. What? Three weeks after placing the order online! Once I’ve had to wait until the next day to be able to pick up an order, but weeks? I’m still a little baffled about that. So in the meantime, I’m excited about tasting my very preordered food. It’s going to be fabulous and worth the wait. But the wait was so long I almost forgot about it. So finally on Monday, I picked up my order with great anticipation of food coma to finish up my day. Well, long story long, I opened everything and displayed it on the table not knowing which I was going to sample first. I ate a bite or two from each plate. I thought about they guy that was raving over the fried rice. He must have been drinking more than I thought and/or extremely hungry that day. Crab fried rice with mushrooms was more mushy than crab. Yeah, there was a little trail of crab meat garnished on top, but wasn’t tasting much of any flavors. Very bland. It needed salt, at least. The Caesar salad wasn’t cold at all. Croutons were chewy, dressing bland. Again, needed salt. I even took into account being in the same bag with the hot prepared items. No, the ride home wasn’t that long. The Sea Bass, which is one of my favorites, was presented so much better than it tasted. Nice piece of fish, but once again, not much excitement to my palate. Sample of spinach, bitter. Now the one saving grace of my 3 week wait for takeout meal was the lobster taco that I almost didn’t order. Glad I did. I ate one and saved the other for my son. I enjoyed the unexpected burst of flavor it had, almost a sweet flavor, he did not. So, in summing up my unfortunate disappointment, the food was definitely not worth the wait. And never did get...
Read moreHad a fabulous evening celebrating 21 years of marriage with my beautiful wife. As soon as you pull up to the place you already feel like its a fancy place due to the complimentary valet service. Inside, the 4-person jazz group was noticed right away and really complimented the atmosphere. Reservations are a must. We went on a Monday night in the middle of Winter and it was still packed. The place is perfectly lit and very clean. The staff is very professional and will do their best to make it a lovely evening for every customer. Now the food. OMG! We had the crab cake to start. I lived in MD for 3 years, but this was the best crab cake I have ever had. The crust on it was light and flakey and really made the difference. I ordered the steak medallions Oscar style which came with lobster tail and asparagus drizzled with bearnaise sauce. My wife got the scallops and a lobster tail. And we got the lobster mashed potatoes to share. Best potato dish i have ever had. The steak was wrapped in bacon and cooked to perfection. The lobster was fine as presented but was better when dipped in butter. The scallops just melted in your mouth. They are served with citrus fruit and micro greens. I also ordered a drink called the 24 karat. It is probably meant for a woman, but it was an interesting drink with a very unique flavor. I loved it. They do have a huge selection of wine but we didn't try any. Overall Eddie V's is a fine dining restaurant and it cost fine dining prices. The lavender scented hot towels were a special touch. It's a great place for special events. The even have private rooms for different sized groups as well as patio dining. I would highly reccomend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy an evening with...
