I went 5 times the first week. I’m not kidding! I always get the carbon tacos and they are SO fresh and delicious! I’m so glad they had either a trainer or Sr Mgmt staff taking the orders at drive thru while someone else took care of payment and providing food. This made sure the orders were placed correctly and nothing was getting messed up while the lines were really long. However, the drive thru still went quite quickly due to this set up. The last thing you want is a newbie behind the speaker taking orders with the line long and not moving. That would be a bad first impression for the people who’ve never tried their food before. I’ve NEVER ever, not once had any issues with the quality/freshness of the food or of the portion sizes It is truly superb. My only suggestions would be (not complaints because I eat there several times a week) is 1st suggestion: More salsas with the orders. I use a whole salsa Fresca per taco and sometimes put the cilantro salsa on as well I don’t care if it’s messy! This has happened twice already. The other day I ordered 5 tacos and received 2 salsa frescas. 2nd Suggestion: Put 2 cashiers at the counter between 5-7. At dinner time on Friday evening at around 6:10 they only had one cashier taking orders and it took forever. I thought for sure I’d save time by going inside but it was a good half hour waiting for my turn to order (2 couples and one large family in front of me and the large family had trouble with their form of payment). Especially for a Friday evening I would have another employee at the counter during rush hour. (I definitely would have saved time staying in the drive thru.) I also had paid with cash and the cashier had to ask the order puller for more change 1’s & 5’s (I think the order puller was mgmt of some sort-Michael was his name I think? He was kicking butt by the way hustling big time) but he didn’t have time to and then by the time my order was ready my cashier lady had forgotten she needed to get me change and had started helping the order puller. So then it had to take time away from the order puller to go back to the office and get change. As I waited, I watched their processes and I appreciate their allocation of one person designated to making tacos and quesadillas, one person in charge of bagging the incoming orders and it appeared that there were two order fillers, one on each side of the kitchen. One for the drive-thru side and one for the dine-in side. Each also had a set-up to be able to prepare the side dishes fresh as the orders were being prepared. Making each side fresh of the Mac n cheese or the side of beans, etc. So you know it’s seriously just prepared for YOU. The fresh veggies are individually wrapped and steamed inside their own baggie prior to going into the cup or on a plate if dining in. Also I noticed that the cook continuously supplied the employee at the taco/quesadilla station with fresh chopped chicken from the grill every few minutes into her chicken container. I’m a huge fan. Also I would love it if you had a 5 for $10 or a 6 for $12 of the tacos a la carte. Wishful thinking 😉🫶 I know. Haha. THANK YOU for coming to Kingman. We were huge fans before and even more so now that I can eat FRESH HEALTHY WHOLE FOOD every day if I want to. Love it....
Read moreI really wanted to give this place a good review especially since it is newly open but unfortunately my experience today was not good. Walking into the restaurant I noticed that my feet were sticking to the floor. Not a good first impression but I just figured they were busy so hadn't had time to clean. When I told one of the workers about it she said she just got there so hadn't had time to mop. As I was waiting for my food, she brought out a mop and bucket swished the mop around in front of the soda dispenser and than she put the mop away. The rest of the floor and the tables in the dining room were dirty (I used a napkin to clean off a spot to eat). Then my food came out and it was a disappointment. I had a meal with two sides, rice and cole slaw. There was rice in every compartment on the plate including in the cole slaw and the cole slaw was hanging off the side of the plate. Basically sloppy serving with no care as to how it looked. I'm glad I am not particular about one food touching the other or I would not have been able to eat it. The chicken was just ok and maybe a tad overcooked, the rice was bland and the cole slaw was just ok. When I finished eating I went to the restroom and the door in the first stall wouldn't close or lock. There was a worker filling the soap so I told her about the door and she shrugged it off saying they knew it was broken but she didn't have her drill or different screws to fix it. I was so disappointed. I will not be back. I would not recommend eating at El Pollo...
Read moreMany restaurants have gone down hill over the years and unfortunately I will have to add El Pollo Loco to the list. Instead of my usual Pollo bowl I got their three piece chicken with two sides. I was super tired from the 4 hour drive so I headed to my hotel. When I opened the box I was so surprised to see three dried out pieces of chicken along with bright green broccoli and just okay pinto beans. The broccoli was not cooked at all and was super stiff. Also stiff was the chicken along with being greasy and dry
I suffered through a few bites before giving up. I hate wasting food, but this went in the trash. The only bright light was the tortillas and salsa...but I was still very much hungry after the few bites from those. Adding El Pollo loco to the list of "no's" and...
