I loved the ambiance of the hotel casino, and the restaurant. Very tastefully elegant. My 4-star food rating comes with a caveat. Although there were multiple snafus during the service, the restaurant entire staff ended up making us both very happy with the service and the food. Therefore, I will not address those issues here. For bread service, I chose the baguette, shaped like torpedo, quite crispy, almost to the point of not being able to open it to butter each bite. It was almost too hard to enjoy. Next came an amuse bouche. This single small bite could have served 4. It was crudité with basil pesto and sun-dried tomato jam, frisee salad, thinly sliced orange carrots, radishes, and tiny bites of tuna. The pesto with the crudité was delicious. A bit of tomato jam and frisee, yummy. The tuna, tomato jam and pesto were flavorful. For appetizers, Arlene ordered French onion soup, while I ordered escargots. I really enjoy a great garlic butter with my escargot and was looking forward to this dish as it is a favorite of mine. It was served with a heavy parsley butter and garlic sauce with grilled sourdough. I was not a fan of the parsley butter. It had so much parsley, I was unable to see the escargot. I was not a fan of the intense flavor. The escargot was cooked properly, but I could have done with much less parsley. The sourdough bread with nicely grilled, lightly crisp and buttery. The perfect accompaniment. My friend quite enjoyed her soup. We shared the Lyonnaise salad. It was composed of frisee salad, crispy bacon bits, a poached egg, garlic croutons, with a mustard dressing. The poached egg was overcooked, and thus we missed the unctuous flavor of the yolk as it flowed through the salad. The mustard dressing enhanced frisee, since occasionally it can be bitter. The nice crispy bacon and croutons provided the right crunch and texture. Arlene ordered Crepes Aux Fruits De Mer. The three large crepes were filled with savory seafood which included scallops and shrimp, covered with a tasty lobster bechamel, and chives delicately placed on top. She loved them, and took home over half of them. I ordered Magret De Canard Duo. The seared duck breast was perfectly rendered. In fact, I never eat the skin, but this time, the skin was done so nicely crisp, I tried it and thoroughly enjoyed it. Medium rare, cut so easily, tender, moist, and melt in your mouth. Beautiful seasoning, eliminating any gamey flavor, just enjoying the true duck flavor. The Crispy confit leg was so good I ate most of it. The outside leg was crispy duck skin and just beneath the surface was crispy bits while the inside was tender, just as I hoped. It was served with spring vegetables, pomme frites (French fries) and roasted duck jus. The spring veggies were shaved carrots, green beans and peas. I poured a bit of jus on the veggies and they were quite delicious, well cooked, bright green beans and peas, and tender thin orange carrot rounds. The piste de resistance was still to come. The staff delivered espresso martinis. A delightful way to end a great meal. But that was just the beginning. As we enjoyed our martinis, the staff delivered a trio of desserts from the chef. First - a chocolate pots a crème. This delightful pudding was a flavorful fairly solid pudding of milk chocolate, not to sweet, resting on a thin crust of sweet crumbly pastry, providing the texture and crunch to this tasty dish. On top was a dark chocolate tuille, with dark chocolate and white chocolate chips, with dark chocolate shavings. A satisfying bite designed to be taken with a bite of the sweet pudding. Yummy. Second - a large pate a choux formed in a ring, cut in half and filled with Chantilly whipped cream, shards of white chocolate, and thinly sliced strawberries. Resembling a strawberry shortcake, only better. Third – a strawberry granita. Delightfully icy cold, a true pure strawberry icy. Altogether a delightful night, with excellent, if not a bit...
Read moreWe went to La Fontaine inside The Fontainebleau for brunch, and what a lovely experience. This restaurant is full of elegance and sophistication.
The moment we stepped into La Fontaine, we were greeted by a luxurious setting. The interior radiates with classic charm, plush seating, crystal chandeliers, a soft peach hue, and soft music playing in the background. It's a truly a beautiful setting.
The service was attentive and courteous. The staff made sure we felt welcome and attended to our needs promptly. However, there were a few hiccups, such as a charge for orange juice that came with one of our orders, but it was quickly ratified. Overall service was lovely though, and they brought my a little chair for my handbag, that was so charming!
They offer a diverse menu, blending classic French cuisine with modern twists. The dishes are thoughtfully crafted. We indulged with the “LA FONTAINE” 3 Eggs, that comes with a choice of Toast or Pastry, Bacon, Chicken Sausage or Avocado Tea or Coffee, Fresh Squeezed Juice. My choice was the “PAIN PERDU” French Toast, with Salted Butter Caramel, Vanilla, and Pecans. Food was presented impeccably and was delicious. The cocktails were also outstanding.
They cater to a high-end clientele, and the prices reflect that. Be prepared for an average “strip price” bill, although for the setting, service, food and presentation, it’s totally worth it. While the restaurant doesn't offer sweeping views of the Las Vegas Strip, the elegant decor compensates for it.
Overall If you're looking for a romantic dinning option or a memorable culinary experience, it's worth a visit. It combines elegance, French flavors, and attentive service. It's definitely a promising addition to the city's...
Read moreI had the worst experience in my life! I waited a whole hour for my food and it never came! I had a waitress that never came to me she was their when i first arrived then after that she was no where to be found after that! all i asked for was the croissant with smoked salmon and no capers with lettuce and a different cheese and they told me that because i ordered differently thats why it was not coming out are you kidding me wow! I have never experience that from them but that made me not want to ever come back and it was the supervisor that said that to me. Does it matter if I ordered something different its a restaurant and i still didnt eat had to go next door that alone was crazy! So my advice reguardless if you have employees working there to eat or a person who is just coming in treat everyone the same!
Update: I wanted to come back onto my previous comment and give a update. After the meal I did not get on that day I was very upset. But I wanted to give La fontaine another chance due to me having a meeting and the restaurant itself was beautiful I decided to go back and have dinner. Well let me say I am pleased to have gone back my service was fast, pleasant and super delicious my group of 6 raved about the food and the time I spent was so much better it was the French cuisine for me that really set the stage with delicious chicken and croissants and my favorite was the dessert. All was good but the dessert was so good but I was so full I couldn't eat another bit! Thank you for giving my company a great experience and I look forward to eating there again as service is what you provided and I appreciated it! My husband doesn't read nor knows French but he is now a lover of the French...
