I heard about Letty's thanks to the "Let's Eat Vegas" YouTube channel and I'm really glad I did. We came in a group of four around noon on July 3rd and we were able to sit right away although I think if we'd arrived a bit later there would have been a wait. Our server June really hooked us up with great service and we soon had excellent and huge margaritas in front of us. We were going to get a pitcher but ended up all having different versions. My La Fresca as recommended by Let's Eat Vegas was delicious with tahini around the rim and a tamarind straw which I could eat as it softened in the drink. We had a large guac and chips to share which was excellent although I have to admit I prefer the heavier, darker, more fried chips at Lindos, that's just a personal preference. For my main I had a quesadilla birria with consomme. Definitely the best quesadilla I've ever eaten and I drank the consomme at the end. Muy delicioso! I wish I'd had time for dessert, I'm sure the churro donuts would have been amazing. Sadly we were heading out for an afternoon show so could not linger. All the rest of the party were very happy with their meals and wanted to come back soon - I'm pretty sure this will become a go-to place whenever we are in the Arts District areas. It's so great to still be discovering wonderful places to eat here even after 3 years as a local.

Food was really good but they were struggling on so many levels. The outside patio was closed due to a private party. They put patio was closed sign up after 10 people asked about the patio seating. The party was in about 30 min and didn't want to have to get up in the middle of eating when they start to arrive. We were excited to sit down and eat for the first time after the pandemic but the tables inside were dirty. Made it to go to be safe since it was packed in such a small dining area and we weren't fully vaccinated yet. The food sat up at the counter ready for about 10 min until I realized there were people after us getting their food. I waited for the guy to take another food order before he got to me to tell me he told the other guy the togo food was ready. That guy had left the counter and was out getting the party setup. They needed two more employees and everything would have been perfect. We will go back when it's completely dead and enjoy or try the one at Santa Fe Station. We live 20 min on the other side of town and it wasn't fun having to drive home to eat the food that had been sitting on the counter for 10 min dying while I was inside waiting patiently. Tipped the guy good and thought he wouldn't forget our order since it was 3 bags of food. Luckily everything tasted good eventhough we had to heat it up.

I heard about this place from a co worker who said it's a must try. From the moment my wife and I walked in to this little hole in the wall place we loved the vibe. There was 80s music playing on the sound system and the football game was on their one TV. The gentleman that sat us was very welcoming and friendly. We sat and looked the menu over and when our very friendly server came over I asked what the specialty was..she said the Chilangos was it. It was featured on A TV show and was amazing. So I ordered that and a beer. My wife ordered lengua and fish tacos. When the beer showed up it was ice cold, just how I like it! Then before long at all, the food showed up. When I took the first bite I was in love! The flavor of my dish was so good. I savored every bite. My wife handed me a Taco to try it and I must say the flavor of the fish taco was vibrant. I can also say that the lengua may have been the best I have ever tried! As we sat and enjoyed the food we discussed what we will get next time since we will 100% be back again. I can not express how satisfied we were with everything about this place. Kudos to the 2 employees we met and of course to the chef. You made my Sunday night.

Where do I start with this review? The restaurant looks great online, there's lots of positive reviews. But mixed in all the five star ratings there are some recurring themes in the complaints that held true for my visit.

Our server was super friendly. Nothing was wrong with our order or anything.. It was just.. Slow. Almost a half hour to get drinks. Another 15 to take our food order. Another half hour to get food to the table.

We had six people, and it came out in stages. First wave, for two people. Then, another two entrees. Finally, the last two.. But it took about 15 mins from first wave to last wave of food to come out.. So we didn't really get to eat together.

The other issues were magnified because of the slow service. It's small, which is no big deal.. But it's loud. Hard to have a conversation at points. And the chairs are hard and uncomfortable.. And we had to endure that for nearly two hours before we were able to get out of there.

The food? Hit and miss. The chicharones were very good. The nachos were meh.. A gigantic pile of chips really. Good for the whole table, but could have used a bit better distribution of cheese and toppings. The taquitos were solid enough, but they're served in a fishbowl glass which was a great visual presentation but in the end turns out to be a poor vessel to serve and eat out of. The triple d highlight, the birria tacos were just okay. They were heavy handed with the cilantro and onion, which I don't think I'd mind so much if there was an appropriate ratio of birria to go with it, or at least, a better distribution, but biting into a mouthful of just onion and cilantro isn't the best.

Price was not cheap, but not outrageous considering the portion sizes you get. And nothing tasted bad. It just seemed to lack execution, refinement, etc.

Overall, a bit of a let down for me. Probably won't return based on this...

Like others have mentioned - for us it was about the lack of service and service skills from the staff. The food at Lettys has always been good but it’s often the service that keeps us from coming back more regularly - and we’re a stones throw distance from the establishment. Literally we’ve been only every few months to a year apart between visits because something always seems to be an issue, and in the very beginning it was every week or so that we’d stop by .

Most recently, we stopped by on a Monday to grab margaritas - as it’s meant to be 2 for 1 Margs on Mondays .. so after speaking with the seemingly very young and very inexperienced server, we made the decision to get 2 of a particular margarita.

Initially she could not figure out how to order them or where the margaritas were on her order device., but after some explaining and meandering on her part - we finally got the order in.

The margaritas were made well and delivered semi promptly by another server that seemed to be doing all of the food running and delivery of drinks. We sat and drank them for about 20 minutes before deciding to head out to our next stop for the evening .

When we finally asked for the bill, there was no promotion applied to the order and the bill was around $40 for the 2 margaritas. When asking again about the promotion, that we had previously discussed with the server - she claimed that it was only a promotion for specific margaritas. This is after our initial conversation about the 2 for 1 promotion - prior to ordering. I stated that we had just talked about that - and that she should be more specifically clear on what’ the specials are. Her response was: “oh yeah another table just had the same issue” and she kind of giggled. ? Then she just walked away. So we paid...

Stopped by at 14:30 on a Wednesday and had the place to my self. The opening hours say they open at 10:30 but the staff member seeing stopped on my arrival leaving the floor with bit of paper and some food scraps. When I went to the toilet there was no soap in the dispenser and no paper towels to dry your hands with. I spoke to a member of staff who directed me to use the men's as it had soap but it also had no hand towels. The men's smelled of faeces and the toilet had splatters of faeces visible from the doorway. After I had eaten I asked if they had restocked the toilet but was informed that they need to buy some soap and hand towels.

They brought me a glass of water with ice straight away on being seated, without me having to ask for it. A staff member noticed I had no menu so brought one over.

I ordered the huevos Mexicana with corn tortillas. With churritos and chocolate sauce after. The food was filling and tasted fine. The churros were still doughy/ undercooked in the middle.

A staff member inquired if everything was ok halfway through eating. The staff all stayed in the kitchen when not delivering to customers so getting their attention at any other time required going to the kitchen door.

Food was average, the service was below average, there wasn't much atmosphere. One other table was sat while I was there but it was the early afternoon on a week day so this probably isn't representative. Tip was not automatically added to the price.

If you're looking for something relatively cheap, a short walk from the freemont experience; and you're not too bothered by cleanliness, then this may be the...
