Super Oscar's Mexican Food — Restaurant in Lincoln City

I've eaten at this restaurant several times. They have a good selection of affordable Mexican food. Most recently I got a steak taco salad. It was tasted great. The vegetables, steak and other ingredients were very good. The shell of the taco salad tasted fine too. However, this was one of the smaller in size taco salads I've ever eaten at a restaurant. It's probably about right if you are trying to lose weight, which I am. If not, you may want to get an extra item to go with your taco salad. Most of their meals are very hearty and they give you plenty. All in all, it's great place to eat. Friendly staff, clean, plenty of parking and great food. We go there about once a week.

Oh, WARNING! This happened to me on like my second visit to this restaurant. If you sit down to eat and one of the staff brings you a free little paper bowl thing with like pickled vegetables and jalapenos, be very careful. I recommend you don't eat it. If you do want to eat it, taste a very small amount of it first. I bit into one of these things and my mouth burned for for 20 minutes or so, I'm not exaggerating folks. Recently this Mexican fast food restaurant was taken over by Super Oscars.. Before that the food was really good. Ive went there few times since it changed hands. The first time I was there after changing hands I ended up calling the health department for obvious issues.. Yesterday I went there and picked up lunch for a friend, and decided to get something for myself.. a ham and cheese quesadilla.. when ordering.. I asked for the local discount.. I was told that they no longer offer that! So now we have to pay the same price as tourists.. and once I got my order.. the quesadilla was floating in grease.. I was so hungry I decided to try and wipe as much of the grease as I could.. but it still ended up dripping all over the front of my shirt.. and all over my hands.. I could only eat half of it.. tossing the rest in the garbage.. within a half an hour I had the worst stomach ache ever.. then I ended up making a run for the toilet instead of the border.. I will never go back to this place again.....

I went through their drive thru a couple days ago and the prices they charge are NOT what is listed on the drive through menu board. A single carne asada taco was shown as $3.25, but I was told those prices weren't updated and they charged me $4.25 or $4.50...then today my husband ordered 12-piece rolled tacos that were listed as $9.49 on the menu board and he ordered 6 extra green salsa at 25¢ each. He didn't know the sauces were extra so when they charged him $10.99 he questioned it, but accepted the additional charge for the sauces. Then when he got home I checked his debit card charges and he had been charged $13.18, so apparently Oscars added a tip for themselves because my husband did NOT leave a tip, but he also did NOT line through the tip space on the ticket when he signed for it. We don't normally go here because the food has been iffy on numerous occasions, but now I know we WON'T be going back.
