Bagels & Joe — Restaurant in Lincoln

The order of arrival is apparently not related to the order of service. I came in and ordered a dozen bagels, and wasn't served until after 7 people behind me were served. In the meantime, the people's orders who ordered after me used up some of the bagel supply for my order, causing me to make substitutions instead of having my order fulfilled, as I had ordered it.

Nice place, lots of workers, and while they gave me two cards for a free bagel with cream cheese next time to apologize for the wait, I don't live here and so this really has no value to me. I wish I hadn't left the few extra dollars in gratuity at the time I made my order, as it seems like it was giving them extra money for providing me poor service.

I did try and kindly explain (no raised voices or yelling, just a plain verbal expression) my frustration with this service failure and all I got were blinking nods, that clearly left the nonverbal expression from them of: "would you just take your food and go"

When I travel, I try and always buy local whenever I can, but this was certainly not the Hometown...

I always love coming to Bagels and Joe, I come here a lot with my grandparents for breakfast/lunch or with my friends for a cup of coffee and lattes. The ambiance is very inviting and it’s a great pace to chill with people or by yourself.

In my opinion, bagels and joe has great tasting espresso, and I’m usually pretty particular about coffee for myself and I think this place is great. They’re always super nice and willing to do your orders however they are.

I get the fruit cups a lot and the fruit is ALWAYS amazing quality. I look forward to getting the fruit when I know that we’re going there. The bagels I’ve gotten multiple times are always toasted, warm and covered in their cream cheese which is delicious. I’ve also had their scones and muffins, which I also think are very good.

So I understand why I had to wait so long as your location is a busy spot. I came for a bagel and as I was sitting there eating I realized you have people eating at the counter above where food is prepared. Not sanitary at all!!! I will not be returning to this location again. I saw two tables that were perfect to sit in front of the counter to alleviate the sanitary issues. I suggest you relocate the waterfall tables to be horizontal to the bar above the food prep area. If someone can transfer covid 6 ft away what do you think this current situation could cause? Simple food handlers should teach you safe food handling all preparation tables should have a sneeze guard! I am only giving them 2 stars for the politeness of the employees! And why don't you have ham? And an everything bagel is not the same without ham!! Just a personal opinion...
