Zao Asian Cafe — Restaurant in Logan

I usually love Zao, since it opened in Logan, it has been one of my go-to places for dinner. Today, I had a very different experience from the usual. I placed a mobile order in their new app, a chicken wrap and steak bowl. The chicken wrap came exactly as ordered, no issues. However, the steak bowl is missing almost everything, except the yakisoba noodles, sauce, and seared broccoli. It says specifically in the app to leave the toppings section blank to get everything. My bowl doesn’t even have the steak! I totally understand a simple mistake, and the order getting made incorrectly, but I just tried to call the Logan store number 5 times and went to voicemail each time. There is still over an hour...

I came during lunch. There was some wait time, but overall, the line steadily moved forward. I had the bowl with rice, steak, veggies, and terakei sauce. It was all gluten-free. There is some cross-contamination, but on the lower end. The food was great, nothing overcooked. The steak was well seasoned. Overall, it is highly recommended. I also had a fresh fruit drink. I tried them all, and I liked the mango Thai and the hibiscus the best. The atmosphere was a bit loud, but the time , the music played in the background. The price for bowl and drink is $14.69. The food is VERY good. We got a bowl with teriyaki sauce, noodles and steak and a few other things in it. It was incredible. The vibe of the restaurant is nice. Gives me Panda Express vibes but better. The staff were friendly and actually looked like they didn’t hate their jobs. They even gave me good recommendations. My only complaint. They were a little skimpy on the toppings and food. My bowl definitely could have been filled more. They put like a 1/4 cup of carrots in and maybe 5 crispy onions.
